After more than a year, we decided to visit this restaurant again. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment, and according to some of recent reviews, this seems not to be an isolated incident. The restaurant had a very young staff, likely summer temps, unfortunately without supervision. At the entrance, a young waiter handed us the menu saying we could choose where to sit. It almost crossed our minds whether he'd tell us to go to the kitchen to prepare our meal after we chose what to eat. Ordering food went like this: a waitress from a nearby table picked up some finished plates, and with them in hand, came over to ask if we had made our choice. We said yes, and she just stood there with the plates staring at us until we realized it was time to tell her our order.

The sparkling wine was warm (the waiter apologized that they had just opened a new bottle...), so we at least asked for a glass with ice to make it drinkable. The burger and the bun were extremely dry, the bun was not toasted at all, the whole plate was visually very unappealing and a completely different level (downward) from what we remembered from our last visit. Definitely not an enjoyable meal. We can't explain it other than the restaurant has lost its chef or the chef had the day off.

It was very hard to catch the attention of the staff; the best strategy was to get up and walk to the bar, interrupt the staff chatting among themselves, and ask for what you needed. Clearly, all the restaurant's guests ended up doing the same.

Note, the place only accepts cash. Don't expect anyone to say goodbye to you when leaving. Given that someone described a similar experience two weeks ago, we can only agree and confirm that this is indeed the case. Very...

Very nice and clean interior, rich menu with many interesting dishes. The dish I ordered was tasty and fresh, all the ingredients were there in the right quantities so the result is a balanced and satiating meal where you can taste all the flavors well. The only thing I didn't particularly like was the peanut sauce which I found very watery, it almost looked like a broth and I would have preferred a creamier texture, but that's just my personal opinion and the dish is still fantastic! The service was fast and friendly, despite this I don't want to give a 5 star review because of what happened at the cash desk: I got up and went to the cash desk to pay and a staff member asks me something in czech (even though I already spoke to the staff in english and they replied, so it was quite clear that I did not understand a single word), thinking I had been asked if I would prefer to pay by cash or card I said "credit card", to which the staff laughed and exchanged fun glances. A little uncomfortable, I asked "sorry, did you ask me something else?" and I was ignored as the staff continued to giggle in front of me. Honestly, I found it unprofessional and I felt uncomfortable, also because there were other people in the place and I did try to understand what I had been asked. Apart from this little (not so pleasant) moment, I still recommend the place because it is really nice and the...

Very cozy place in the middle of hectic street with nice courtyard. Service is trying to do their best, but kitchen isn’t big enough to cope with orders, so if you are in a hurry- just choose another place, as even for drinks being brought we had to wait for 40 minutes and it wasn’t even a full house. Grapefruit fresh juice- was perfect with no ice and squeezed from warm fruits, so tasted perfect. White wine was amazing (!), and home made lavender-lemon lemonade was also very fresh with drops of essential oils.

As far as the food is concerned, the breakfast dishes can’t be ordered later during the day and that influences variety of dishes to great extent. I ordered basil tortellini, but after waiting for 40 minutes I was told they were out of it😬 The starter was supposed to come earlier, but it arrived just a moment before the other food. Besides, the empanadas they offer are not Argentinian empanadas, so ask carefully before ordering as they are deep fried yeast based pastries. Instead of tortellini I ordered a bowl- that was big and ok, though lacked juiciness of dressing (I tried to better it with expected evoo to arrive, but that was just pomace oil so greenery in bowl helped a lot to swallow🙈 A rather large variety of vegan sweet treats that can be found also in share yoga cafe and studio. Can...

My opinion of Palo Verde is very ambiguous. I've visited this place many times - the interior is very comforting and I love the food and especially the selection of vegan cakes. As a bonus, this place offers specialty coffee from Brno - Rusty nails and other great alternatives to coffee like high quality tea or turmeric/beetroot/chai latte. And if someone have tried many dishes here and is looking for alternatives, Palo can offer you amazing brunches for the morning or tasty coctail drinks for the evening. Yet my experience is almost always spoiled by the staff. The girls are often nice, but they definitely don't do the waitress part good: even in not crowded hours, you wait so long for someone to come to your table so that it usually ends up standing up and going to the counter yourselve. During the meal we often had empty glass and it was a miracle when some of the girls offered us a refill or another drink - again it usually ended up going to the counter yourselve. Often, the girls were just lingering around the bar, messy counter and thirsty customers notwithstanding. It makes me sad, because I like it here and I know I will be coming back, but I have to think twice if I want to bring my friends or family here because of the poor customer service. I hope it will be better in the future.
