Great little hotel 2 minutes from the Charles Bridge in the Mala Strana area of Prague, Czechia. The location makes it very easy to access both sides of the river. We had a large bedroom (with 2 chairs, a table, and a couch) with big windows, sheer curtains for privacy and light, and also with room darkening drapes for sleeping in. The bathroom was shining, spacious enough, and immaculate, with new tile. The tub had the usual half-enclosure of glass, with hand or wall operated shower head. There is a small lobby right off the street with a semi-circular desk manned by friendly staff who easily speak English and are more than willing to assist. No elevator, but that wasn’t a problem for us. Our breakfast was included, and the breakfast room was nicely and warmly decorated. There was a bar with ham, turkey, a variety of cheeses, juices, croissants, rolls and muffins, etc., as well as fresh fruit cups and yogurt. Additionally, pleasant staff also took orders for morning cappucino, etc., and orders from their breakfast menu. The avocado toast and scrambled eggs and ham were perfect and the other options looked good as well. All of this was included! Staff is there from 7 am til 7 pm, but we had no issues whatsoever getting back in the evening. There is a small wine bar downstairs (which we didn’t try) and there can be some laughter rippling up the stairs occasionally, but again, no bother. There is an extremely busy neighborhood pub/restaurant, Lokal, two doors down which was full of locals relaxing after work. There was also a bit of noise from this, but nothing to complain about. We didn’t try Lokal, but I note it was recommended to us by the hotel and a tour guide. They have indoor/outdoor seating. The hotel’s location is not far from Prague Castle and St Nicholas’ church, yet it is tucked away on a very quiet street. Lots of coffee shops and restaurants nearby, including Porks, which is seemingly very popular and again, was recommended by our tour guide. Staff couldn’t have been nicer, answered all our questions and scheduled a cab for us. Would definitely stay here again. This is not an overly fancy place, but is super nice and warm and feels cozy to...
Read moreIf there are six starts, I'll give them so. The receptionist and the lady server at its restaurant are very nice. Room is spacious and clean. Bathroom is just exceptionally good. Breakfast is such a huge nice surprise!!! On top of the yummy food on the desk, guests can pick a set from the menu. Varieties and quality of food are both impressive. We arrived earlier than check-in time but had no troubles to store our luggage so that we could go browsing the places with free hands. As other reviewers mentioned, it's location is perfect too. Just one minute away from Charles Bridge and also a minute to walk into the Lesser Town.
However, there are two downsides as well. First, there is no elevator. You have to walk up to second level with your suitcase or backpacks, if your room is at the top (that is our case). Second, you'll hear some noise from the bars nearby at night. But it didn't last long or till late night. So, it's totally acceptable to me.
All in all, highly recommend it to all guests. We had a wonderful stay in Ikona. Thank you...
Read moreI was very impressed with the service at this hotel – they kindly offered me an early check-in, 3 hours before the official time, which I greatly appreciated. The location is truly perfect: just a short walk to Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, and Prague Castle. Super convenient for exploring the city on foot.
My Superior Room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The bed was soft and cozy, and the breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from.
That said, there were a couple of small things to note: at night, there might be some noise from the street in front of the hotel. Also, while the bathtub was great, it may be a bit tricky for older guests to step out safely – be careful not to slip. Lastly, the hotel doesn’t have an elevator, so guests staying on higher floors should be prepared to carry their luggage up the stairs.
Overall, a lovely stay and I would...
