What a restaurant! I believe this is the best customer service I have received in my life. So we came here 2 nights ago and honestly did not like the food. After stating this in my original review I quickly got a reply from the restaurant telling us they deeply regretted that we did not like our time here (see below for original review and reply). They told me we could come by again to try other food and drinks on the house and show us that they can do better than what we experienced last time. We took them up on that offer and came by again today and my god what a turn around. The soup was one of the best i got ever served and both the grilled cheese with bacon and the pork rilette were also very delicious. The raspberry radler/lemonade and the carrot cake were also really good! As i suspected in the original review, we just ordered the wrong things, because everything we had now was amazing! We are very grateful for the amazing service and I want to personally thank the owner for offering us a free meal so that we can leave this restaurant thinking it is one of the best spots in prague, which it honestly really is! We will definitely be back when we return to prague! Original review: I wish I could say I enjoyed my time here but honestly I didn't. Don't hear me wrong, the ambience and staff are very nice. But the food and beer is just lackluster. First we asked if the portions were big enough for dinner (as prices were really low), they told us it was but it was way too small (more like an appetizer portion). I ordered 'the best sausage' of prague which was honestly very bland, next to this I ordered a lager which tasted like an IPA (don't like IPA's) so that was also a disappointment. The Camembert my girlfriend ordered was definitely better but not enough to save the night. Maybe it was that I ordered the wrong things but I was really disappointed as I expected more from all the great reviews and a packed restaurant.

I am so sad that I only discovered this place on my last day in Prague, but it was amazing enough that I literally ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner there that day, and I brought along friends with me for each meal. They all thought the same thing I did: Roesel is amazing. This is one of the true treasures of Prague. The prices are fantastic, and the food and drinks are of the absolute highest quality. I had a fantastic piece of Orange cake w/caramel sauce for breakfast, a plate of sausages and bread with melted cheese and bacon (with a fantastic homemade lemonade) for lunch, and some of the best pork belly with potato purée I’ve ever had (and a local craft beer) for dinner. I wish I could have stayed longer, because they change out their menu every week. The staff was also so welcoming and friendly. They treat you like you are a guest in their home. Special shout out to Suzana, or amazing waitress, and Eva, one of the best chef’s I’ve ever seen. Seriously, if you’re in Prague, check this place out. You will not regret it.

Lots of businesses near the Charles Bridge seem to know that they don't have to try very hard because there are never-ending throngs of tourists. ROSEL was a great exception in our experience. Tucked away off the main drag, once inside it opens into a very cozy space (came in March, so the seating was confined to indoors). The beer, fantastic. Really great variety from local breweries, including IPAs that would rival what is available in the US craft beer scene. Service was cheerful and lovely (we've not always experienced this is our time in Czech). Lucie, our server, was particularly great, and made us feel so welcome. If you're looking for a chilled out spot off the Charles bridge, with good food and beer- at extremely reasonable prices- you can't go wrong with ROSEL. 5 stars. PRO TIP: get a bomber to-go. Great prices, and a great alternative to some of the over-hyped Czech pilsners.

The beer here is nice, although a little on the pricey side for Prague, but it is next to a major tourist attraction. I really recommend the APA, if it's still available, as it's perfect for a hot summer's day. The issue I had with this place was it's more of a smoker's pub/cafe. The "beer garden" is an indoor patio area just outside the entrance of the "indoor area", where people go to smoke. If you're not a smoker, you'll find there's almost nowhere you can sit that isn't hiding in a dark corner somewhere to avoid having your air poisoned, as the door is open, and all the cigarette smoke fills the entire place. Essentially, the smokers ruin the place for the non-smokers. This is a real shame for those who want to relax in the patio or in the bar, but also want to breathe! We just wanted to get out as quickly as possible and found ourselves just necking our beers without enjoying it so we could...
