Very bad! 08.10.2022, I booked via Agoda a double room for a family with two children (7 & 12) and two adults. 198,96€ (inkl. Kurtaxe) for 3 nights in Praha from 29.10 to 01.11 was an attractive price. Two day later, I did checked again the offer of this room for two people at the same time was 30€ fewer and the price for family with two children is only 191€ (the last room available). 09.10.2022, I sent a mail to request the confirmation of the booking and enquire the price of park place for a car. On 11.10, I received only the reply from someone with the name Marco about the parking price (400 Kc per car/night) and inquire my phone number for more information. Nothing anymore about the confirmation. I replied immediately the phone number. 26.10.2022, I received a message from the Hotel via Agoda: "Good day, we must inform you that your reservation is cancelled. It is also not allowed to book a double room as quadruple and on Hotel Agoda policy there is not place for other guests in a double room. A double room must be booked for 2 people not for 3 or 4 at the price of 2 people. The only possibility is to book for one adult and one child or for two adults in a double room. Or in case require an extra bed per each person or child added, which it would cost 40 Euro more per night, per person ( so 80 Euro in total per night ) but not in a double room. Please send us all informations to send you the refund for the reservaton or contact Agoda, as better for you. Thank you for your understanding. Best regards." Like a blackmail! :D I could pay more than their offer. But I feel that they don't deserve this cunning way of doing business. I replied instantly my Paypaladdresse to enquire the refund. But at this moment, I'm about to report to Paypal to get my money back. :D
Edit on 02.11.2022, after the reply of Hotel: On 08.10.2022, I looked for A ROOM for 2 adults and 2 children. It was EASY to find the same offer in internet; and your offer is only one of them. I did chosen your Hotel because of the good Feedback, the Location and especially for me is the parking space.
I can see that, one bed is not enough for my family in this case. I hoped that, with your experience of 4 Stars Hotel, we could find a solution. So that I did contacted with you via E-Mail as I wrote above.
In this case, I don't critic your price, but THE WAY you communicate with your customer. That's not 4 star level communication. If I had received your reply sooner, not on 26.10, there wouldn't have been this controversy.
I can afford easily your offer on 26.10, but still like to risk with the booking style on 08.10, to better understand the pricing gimmicks. :)
At this moment (02.11.2022), I still wait for...
Read moreThis was a TERRIBLE experience. When we arrived there was no one there to open the door, we stood there freezing, we called and nobody picked up, after half an hour they informed us that they needed to move us to a different hotel so we had to go out and look for this other hotel with our luggages in the middle of the night. I still don’t understand why they wouldn’t have the minimum courtesy or professionalism to inform this before our arrival. The next morning we lost so much time just because we had to make the same walk with luggages and everything back to this hotel and, guess what?, the room wasn’t ready even though we had it payed and reserved since the previous day. When we talked about this, the staff was non-caring at all, they didn’t help us, and just told us that we had to wait for the other guests (who were staying in the room WE HAD ALREADY PAID FOR) to check out, and wait for the time to check in (again, even though we had a fully paid reservation since the day before).
Rooms are really uncomfortable. Beds are old and full of holes, pillows were stone packages, and, instead of the double bed you would expect by reserving a double accommodation, we got two roughly simple beds put on one side of the other, not even tied together: you could easily fall down in the middle of the night. Even if the advertisement says it has a TV, don’t expect nothing more than a 20cm x 20cm monitor that has absolutely no use. Not only this, but we also got urticaria from the old and poorly washed bed sheets. Also, you can hear EVERYTHING that happens in and outside of the building, from the conversations and the cars on the street, to the snoring of your neighbor guests, so try to sleep with that. This was really the worst hotel ever.
Finally, do not take only my comment into account, you just have to see the replies that the hotel staff posts here in this same platform to answer the guests’ opinions. You will find that they are rude, unhelpful and unprofessional responses, only blaming the customer for the terrible service that they provide, same way they treated us since the beginning of this awful experience.
Ps. We still haven’t received back the €50 deposit that we had to leave to guarantee the tiny water bottle and the single beer that were in the really...
Read moreHorrible. The worst place ever. Terrible memory from Prague because of this hotel.
We arrived late at night, due to our delayed flight. The receptionist said that there was a problem distributing rooms that they don't have a room for us. So that we should spend our first night out of 4 nights in another hotel nearby.
He said they do that (sending their customers to eah other) time to time, when these things happen. So those who are reading this, please be aware that such things can happen to you. It was almost 12 at night and raining outside. We were 2 women with luggages. We couldn't do anything but to move to another hotel.
The hotel was called Anette Hotel. The problem was, when we arrived at the substitute hotel the hotel receptionist was not informed about the situation at all. We had to wait for another hour while he called Hotel Augustus receptionist and figure what was going on.
Another thing to mention, usually when hotels are overbooked, they offer you a better room or at least almost equal quality room. But wow-this hotel never lets you down. Hotel Anette was 3 star room while Augustus was 4 star room. The room had no AC nor minibar(all these were included in our original booking), and also the room was covered with dust as if it has not been used for months.
We had to wait until 11 a.m. the next day because our room would be only ready then. We had to pack and unpack our luggages that day, so basically we wasted half of the day packing, moving, cheking-in, unpacking. They offered us 3 free breakfasts but that's just not the best way to handle such problem.
We were so exhausted and also we did not want to make the situation worse when we are on a vacation trip where we should have only nice memories. But it sure was a terrible first night at Hotel Augustus and Prague. Thank you for the worst first...
