Went there with my parents and our dog. As it was very warm, we asked the waiter about a bowl for our dog and some water. What we heard was basically: We have a bowl, but we don't know where it is right now, so go and look for yourself. After like 10 minutes of searching for a bowl, we asked them to pour some fresh water, but we heard, that there's a fountaint and we can use it. Unfortunately, the water there was so filthy, we could not accept and basically begged everyone from the stuff to put some fresh water for our dog. But that's not it. We ordered, had our food, but when it comes to payment, the waiter was like: "So look, here's the deal. Your check is 2500.00 CZK, but let's make it 2800.00 CZK as a 300.00 CZK tip for me". Basically, we were flabergasted as it was the first time something like that happened in our lives. Luckily, my mother was pretty sane, so she asked him, if he did help us to find a bowl of fresh water for our dog. He said no. So my mom told him basically to "ef off", and don't play such tricks on her. Never again with this kind of stuff.
Ps. Basically it's not about the money, cause if the waiter shows some empathy and respect, probably the tip would be more than to our "dinner". However, lack of empathy and patronizing us made all of...
Read moreBesides the absolute Czechooo awful attitude of both the middle aged beer pouring czesky muz who decided it was a good idea to shove me out of the way and spill his two precious Pilsen dvanactku piva on me. ( and let’s not forget his derelict pushing me as though his old self was a rugby player nearly over...) food and beer are great.
Yes the waiters (both the tall bearded guy who speaks decent English.. at least enough to give the heslo/password for the bathroom... and the woman were nice enough) with the Czech standards of service which still are the biggest joke of the EU...)
But come on managers... how can you not train you beer guy to make sure not to spill his fresh beer onto customers..?
I know his job is very difficult and technical... pouring beer all day has always been a job only a few muzy have qualifications for in CR... but please... perhaps you can teach him just one or two things to bump his behavior up to Non-Barbaric levels..?
I mean come on, never once did I even see this level of wack-job stuff in several months all over Ukraine.
Just for the record, the oldish guy who was serving beer last night (23 prosinec) about 19:00. I’m just gonna guess his...
Read moreWent to dinner with 3 friends. Meals appeared within a few minutes of ordering, which if you know anything about Czech food means that everything was precooked earlier in the day. My "500g" of ribs had about 50g of meat, the rest was bone and fat. I've eaten ribs at many restaurants in Prague before. This was a paltry serving of low quality ribs. What little meat there was had been barely heated above room temperature. Sauce tasted store bought. The horseradish was from a jar, but had dried out and had no flavour left whatsoever. The pickled cabbage also tasted like it had been left out for a day or two. The waiter was unhelpful, explaining in poor English (he could have spoken Czech, but stuck with what little English he had) that they usually served better ribs. Not sure how that was supposed to help.
At the end of the meal, we asked to pay separately. The same waiter then proceeded to add up my 2 items to be over 100kc more than the actual total, and was surprised that I called him on it.
This restaurant also charges for tap water (not that uncommon for Prague), which gives you an indication of what sort of hospitality you're in...
