U Bílého lva — Restaurant in Prague

Unfortunately this restaurant served cheesecake with mold on it. The waitress did not want to admit that it was mold, even though the cake smelled foul and very moldy (definitely not how a cheesecake should smell). Then we got another piece where it was clear that the moldy part was just cut off (in our opinion, this admitted that there was mold on it), while the cheese was still smelling bad and sour. Of course we did not eat the cake. It was unprofessional of the waitress to still charge us for the cheesecake, even though it was clear that something was wrong with it.

We are pseudo regulars, we visit once a month for lunch or dinner. We can attest to the ongoing quality of the Czech food on offer, especially meat dishes. Tasty and healthy, never had any issues digesting like in most Czech restaurants. I would like to praise the goose we had last time for the St. Martin feast. Perfectly roasted but still juicy and soft, it melted in our mouths, accompanied by red cabbage cooked in wine. I come here often for lunches. Their lunch menu is very good, with wide selection of "no-nonsense" traditional Czech food with big portions and very good prices. For me a bit unfortunate their beer partner is Staropramen (just a matter of personal taste, the wheat non-filtered one is actually quite good). Friendly service and nice, cozy interior.
