Yellow House — Hotel in Mariscal Sucre

Yellow House is in a great location, where we were steps to the Hop on Bus, Plaza Foch, many restaurants, and a laundry service. The owner and her daughter were very helpful. I would recommend to have them book your taxi to the airport for $25. They offer a breakfast consisting of a bun, cheese, fruit , juice and tea/coffee. Eggs are additional $. (Not much) |We stayed 2 different times. First when we landed in Quito and then after the Galapagos. |Our room the first visit was in the main building. It was lovely with a table, chairs and futon in front of a window. The room was classified as deluxe double. The bathroom was a bit tight, but still functional. |Our room for the second visit was in the back section- classified as a double. While the size of the room was sufficient, we found the bed too small. The bathroom had glass walls with a curtain to pull when you are in there ( worked well enough). |I recommend asking for a room in the main building and a deluxe double for the larger bed. |We were able to store our bags after checkout which was very helpful. |There is no heat and the room will be chilly . There is a blanket but it’s not super thick. |There are courtyards throughout the property where you can sit in the sun and warm up . |Ask the owner and her daughter for tour recommendations. |There definitely are some repairs that need to be done to the house, but if you can overlook them you will find good value for...

The location of the hostel is good, right next to Plaza Foch. Good nightlife, bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel is very safe with a 24 hour reception.||The owners are multilingual and friendly.||The house itself would be nice as it creates a mansion atmosphere. However, the house is old and in need of renovation. We have seen more beautiful hostels on our Ecuador journey. The rooms are old-fashioned and have no charm. The bathroom was integrated afterwards as an open space in the room, which gives a strange picture and leaves no privacy. ||The hotel offers a good, simple breakfast, which is included in the price.||However, the negative points must always be seen in relation to the price. This is a simple basic hotel with very economical rates. Everything needed for a stay is there, everything works, and it is clean. Breakfast is simple but adequate. Filtered water is available in the dining room to fill water bottles. Water in the shower is hot and plentiful.||||Located right in the heart of the Mirascal, half a block from Fuchs plaza, it is an easy walking distance to all the restaurants the area is known for.
