The location is great. On Charles Darwin AVE so nothing is far away. The rooms were comfortable and great AC. The service was great to start. Daniel spent a good bit of time giving us a lot of great information about what to do, where to go, and what to expect. He told us to pay someone else later. They were not there that night and no one was at the front when we left for our tour in the morning, so we didn’t pay until the 2nd night. We got back from our tour and wanted hot showers. It was cold. I left both sides running for a few minutes and it didn’t get warm. We messaged them and it took 90 minutes to get a response. We were told the gas was just switched and leave the left valve running for 5 minutes. We let it run for another 15. The staff asked to check and agreed it didn’t work. We took cold showers and went to dinner. 3 different staff members stressed that it was the left side was hot. It turns out, our room was the only one where hot is on the right. So they had it running while we were out and had hot water on our return. The other thing with the shower is that the tile flooring in the shower/bathroom is smooth. There was no mat for traction. I didn’t slip, but was very cautious. While the location is great, it is also right next to a bar. Our room was at the front and the music was loud! Luckily, the music ended both nights between 11:30-12:00, and not later. The property is lovely. Lots of plants, flowers, and visiting birds. Their dog is very sweet and loves scratches when they warm up to you. The common area is nice and the shared kitchen was well equipped. They allowed us to store our bags there for a few hours at no...
Read moreI know this place is inexpensive.... but this place was so horrible, that we decided to LOSE our money and leave the premises without spending 1 night and pay for ANOTHER HOTEL - Solymar down the street.||||Although the Morning Glory B&B is in a good location, that is about where the good ends.||||1. Our room was extremely small, just enough room to walk around the bed. || ||2. The bed had sheets that looked stained and flat as a pancake pillows. When we asked for extra pillows, the woman asked if we needed them right now. We said no and when we returned that evening, still no pillows.||||3. Room was extremely dark & walls were dingy||||4. Window did not close completely, and when we complained, the owner didn't think it was a big deal. When i made a fuss about it, he came over and duct taped it. (which at least kept the bugs out)||||5. Small lizards climbing the walls. I could see if there were an occasional lizard because of the environment, but this place had them crawling the walls. Had we stayed, I would have been afraid to sleep at night with them crawling all over me.||||While we were out that day, we checked out the Solymar hotel down the street and they had one room available. When we returned to the Morning Glory and saw all the lizards on the wall, we just decided to get our things and leave. Definitely do not recommend until they get new sheets/pillows/do much needed maintenance. You get what...
Read moreNice Hostal. Good size rooms with shelves/table- always helpful for unpacking. Hammock & seating area outside room- nice and also communal hammocks and seating at the back (although wasn’t very social during our stay). Door to bathroom is made of fabric- so can make using the loo when sharing with someone a little channelling (noisy). Good kitchen. We had breakfasts, lunches and cooked dinners here. Nice shower. (Not toiletries provided) Notice board with helpful tips. Would be lovely if yoga mats were available. Staff were helpful & spoke good English however I would not describe as friendly. Unfortunately we were over charged on our return and I felt this was handled in a particularly rude way (we had stayed for a few nights and we’re going to another island. The initial nights in morning glory were booked on Air BnB, Before we left we arranged a final night on our return to Santa Cruz to stay in morning Glory, however on check in they charged an additional £10 to what had been agreed- this was not confusion due to language barrier and the way it was handled left a poor feeling after what had been a nice place...
