WE LOVED MAIDITH AND WOULD RETURN IN A SECOND! Juan Carlos and his staff were wonderful, very accommodating, serviceable, and friendly. They treated us like family.
PROS: "Close to the action" but not so close that it is noisy. Pool - We have a 5-year-old daughter and the small pool (jacuzzi-sized) kept her busy and happy when we were not out on excursions. The pool turned out to be a lifesaver for our daughter and also for us, since it was very hot, even in March. Safety - We felt very safe at all times. Puerto Ayora felt very safe at all times, but also at Maidith the door to the street was kept locked at night and because it is small enough, there wasn't as much coming and going throughout the day. Breakfast - Each day our breakfast was delicious and made right when we walked in. Fresh fruit and food. Location - 5 minute walk to the main street but also right across the street from Galapagos Dreams, through which we did all our excursions. There is also a couple of minimarts down the block if you need basics. Treated us like family - Juan Carlos even kept an eye on our daughter when she got antsy to get going and we were still getting ready. He also gave us a recommendation for a private driver in Quito, since he knew we were anxious about safety, especially as we had our daughter with us. Juan Carlos is working on updates to the hotel. Our room (at the very top) had not been updated yet (it was perfectly fine nonetheless) but we had a huge roof terrace all to ourselves which was a lifesaver for setting things out to dry.
CONS: Poor wifi - I have to mention this because it is true, but I also have to say that we found this to be the case throughout the Galapagos, period. It has nothing to do with Maidith. Bedding - My husband found the beds and pillows to be not very comfortable and they made it difficult for him to rest. I did not find them super comfortable but was able to sleep fine.
TIP: Make reservations directly with the hotel. I initially booked through a third-party website but there was a glitch and I had to rebook directly with Juan Carlos. Soooo glad I did because we...
Read moreAbsolutely fabulous stay! The rooms were clean and spacious, and the hosts felt like family. They made us fresh breakfast every day and had awesome recommendations for the island. I would only stay here every time I come back to the Galapagos. The hotel was an oasis from the town, it was quiet and offered a nice pool to cool down in after a day of activities. The hosts could not have been more helpful; they connected us with transportation, activities, restaurants, and even medical care. They were always available, informative, and looking out for us. They also supplied lots of free safe drinking water, and our room even had a fridge. The inn itself is beautiful, comfortable, clean, and in an excellent location in Puerto Ayora. We could walk to everything.
By far one of the best hotels I've ever been privileged enough to stay at. The gorgeous building, beautiful colors, and breathtaking interior have a wow factor!
They all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The atmosphere is very family-friendly, and they are so warm and attentive! Their recommendations helped make my first time in the Galapagos unforgettable.
Highly recommend this beautiful &...

The staff members are all great! They all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The atmosphere is very family friendly and they are so warm and attentive! They even helped me with recommendations to make my first time in Galapagos unforgettable and were always looking out for me.
The place was always impeccable, the breakfasts were the perfect way to start the days of intense activity. I was delighted to come back and find my room spotlessly clean, with the Ac running minutes before my arrival so I can cool off and rest. They are masters of detail without a doubt!
The location is strategic, quiet but close to shops, tours departures, the ferry, visit nearby beaches and restaurants on walking distances.
Overall a wonderful place. I would stay...
