Our group stayed here a week this month and I have nothing to say but good things about this home away from home. From the beginning, we were treated as family - looked after, looked out for and given advice when it was needed. It's centrally located, with drugstores down the street (all products are printed in Spanish) and one of the crew offered to accompany me, for which I was grateful. A quick walk to the main street and you find all kinds of shops and restaurants. I felt very safe walking to and from this place, it is a safe area.
The cooks worked hard every day to see that we were fed (traditional or American breakfast - choose one and you'll enjoy it!), soups and meals that hit the spot. Coffee is ready early in the morning and drinks are mixed up until about 10pm. The open-air feel of the place - walking out the door of Room #1 and feeling the fresh air as I walk down the stairs to the lobby/dining area - well, there's nothing like it. Our room was more spacious than expected, plenty of room for us and our bags. The electrical plugs were American, which made it easy and there were plenty of them. The bathroom was spacious and the shower worked great. I enjoyed a birthday in the company of this team of happy people and the other 3 birthday guests and I enjoyed a special night of celebration with our new friends.
We were sad to leave, as you will be if you're lucky enough...
Read moreDid not actually stay in the hotel as I was moved to the Ocean Dreams (next door) due to an accidental overbooking), but I have to say, Jonatan was absolutely fantastic! He was so helpful and accommodating and is a wealth of knowledge!
I had come the day before I was staying because I had to catch the ferry to Isabela for a daytrip, but would be checking in w/him that evening and did not want to lug my luggage around w/me all day. He said I could drop it off early the next morning, no problem. I came to drop it off, but unfortunately, no one was there. However, it seemed a safe enough place, that I stowed my bag behind the travel desk. When I came back that evening (6pm), my bag was in the office w/him and the gal that worked with him was very nice in making sure it was taken care of. I was also welcomed with a bottled water and iced coffee! Jonatan also explained about the overbooking and was nice enough to walk me to the other hotel (which was a bit of an upgrade as I got a full suite).
For the service alone, I would recommend this place! It looked like a fun and fantastic place to stay! And, not only that, but Jonatan also provides travel services throughout Santa Cruz and the rest of...
Read moreThis hotel was selected for us by our tour package. It started off nice with a welcome juice drink. First of all, this hotel is clean, safe, and presumably cheap (which is why the tour company used it). This hotel is also unnecessarily stingy. Examples: 1. We asked for one (1) extra pillow. It was denied until we insisted. It costs nothing. Why be so niggardly? 2. The minute we left for the day, they turned off the AC in our room, which was set at 25. Therefore, our wet clothing never dried. 3. Breakfast actually made me laugh out loud. The standard was a roll, cheese, and ham. It was my first ever ham garnish. The cheese was half the size of a box of matches. I posted a photo with this review with a dollar for size comparison. I’d like to lose five pounds so no problem for me. It might be one for you if your appetite is more robust.|So. There are probably ten cheaper places in Port Aroyo and 10 more expensive places with a better breakfast. There’s a really pretty place with a pool across the street called Maidith. Next time…. Except there won’t be a next time because I’ll never visit the Galápagos again. Too little time, too...
