The hotel itself is huge, most of the rooms are big and bathroom showers are of decent size. There is a swimming pool which is well maintained and a restaurant on site which has food for a really good price, food is great too and the drinks are made well.staff is super friendly, good level of English both spoken and comprehensive. The room I booked was supposed to have air-conditioning but was instead given a room without one but since luxor was cold it wasn't a big issue as the manager did offer to move me the next day. The hotel allowed us to check in really early which was very nice of them. This hotel is on the west bank but all the attractions are on the east bank. Do not pay for expensive boat rides to cross as a cheap public ferry (10 egp 02/2024) is available only a short walk away. This hotel only takes cash so make sure to have USD available,if not they'll use a terrible exchange rate in local currency.

The hotel is not upscale but is very beautiful! Hassin and every staff member went above and beyond to make our stay there comfortable. Any request we had was met. We chose to have many meals here which were very good, and served to us at any hour we requested. The building is absolutely beautiful and the on-site pool was a welcome retrat from the intense heat of Luxor. The West Bank is quiet, which we preferred, but a short walk to the local ferry will bring you to downtown Luxor and all it has to offer. If you are looking for a budget hotel with friendly and welcoming staff, with quiet and confortable rooms, I cannot recommend Hotel Sheherazade enough. If I ever return to Luxor I will be sure to stay there again.

Value for money! Located away from the busy and noisy streets. The rooms are clean and serviced daily. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located five minutes away from the ferry to the East bank from where you can easily reach the Karnak and Luxor temple by foot. The hotel offers trips to the tombs and tempels on the West bank, with or without a guide. We payed 900 EP for a driver for four hours enabeling us to visit the temple of Medinat Habu, the valley of the kings and Hatsjepsoet. The breakfast is good but without variation, this could be improved.

I stay over at the Fayrouz and have never visited before. Take this as a direct comparison; The staff are nice and friendly, but lots of them just sitting around playing games on their phones. I was shocked at how large the complex is - literally like a Tardis; enter through a small reception into an 3 storey estate surrounding you. There's an outside pool area which looked lovely. My impression is that it's a beautiful space but lacking in ambience (unlike the gardens at the Fayrouz).

I was shown a selection of rooms and found them very disappointing. Apparently I was shown the best, but they are quite small and compact; probably half the size of the Fayrouz over the road. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but at 30 Euros a night it is twice the price of the Fayrouz, so I'll be sticking to...
