Came here with my family for dinner yesterday and they had unfortunately closed early, however after reading all of the other reviews we were determined to eat here before leaving Luxor. We came for a late lunch today and were so glad that we came back. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was spectacular. All of the food was so fresh, and while others mentioned having to wait a while, we found the service to be very quick. Additionally, the gallery adjoining to the restaurant had a very unique set of more contemporary Egyptian art, perfect for those who are interested in some more modern interpretations of traditional art, quite refreshing after being inundated with the same kinds of souvenirs and art at every other shop. The Aubergine Tagine- The Wannas Way was fantastic as described and I can highly recommend it. Definitely don’t skip the Rice with Curry-Ginger, as it was a unique take on a traditional rice dish with lots of fresh herbs and a fantastic texture. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Luxor, and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, especially for vegans and...
Read moreLook no further because this place is not to be missed - An absolute must go!!! We loved it so much we went twice in two days. They were the best people we met in Luxor: genuine, honest, kind and passionate about what they are doing. There is no hustle or hassle here. The food was unbelievably delicious (seriously!!) and reasonably priced. It’s made on the spot and super fresh. Easily some of the best food we had in Egypt. The cafe setting is calm and peaceful, with a nice garden to sit in or options inside amongst artwork if you prefer. The owner is an art director who is working to create a beautiful space filled with unique art pieces. The whole thing is so special. Not to mention, there are two resident cats who are extremely sweet and cuddly (this is saying a lot as I’m not a cat lover). We were honestly sad to leave and to not be able to come again… hopefully in the future see you soon! We will recommend this to anyone and everyone who visits Luxor. Thanks guys for...
Read moreGot here after visiting the Sandouk shop - rather random. But the art gallery is really nice - although we did not buy anything (found it a bit too expensive) but really liked the guy running the place who was also the chef. Ended up eating there and the food was just so damn good. We had an onion soup, arabic salad, baba ganouch, rice with curry and mousakka. Although it sounds like A LOT of food, the plates are small. So, if you are hungry order more :)
Am giving this a 4 because the food took more than 1h to prepare as the guy was cooking it fresh. In case you are not hungry, this is okay… but we were...
