August 2025 We've not long returned from an eleven night stay at the Jaz Fayrouz hotel in Naama Bay, Sharm El Sheikh. We had an all-inclusive package with Easyjet Holidays.
Location is excellent, with direct access to the beautiful private beach. Naama Bay main streets and night-life (e.g. Hard Rock Cafe and other bars and restaurants) are a ten minute stroll from the hotel.
We were a party of four - two adults and our kids, 15 year old lad and 12 year old girl. We had two adjacent rooms (211 and 212) which had the benefit of being inter-connecting rooms, so for a family it was perfect. The rooms are single storey, with patio doors opening onto a patio overlooking beautifully-kept gardens.
The rooms were a little dated, but kept very clean by the superb housekeeping staff.
The food in the main buffet restaurant (El Wadi) is a bit 'samey'; although there is a good choice of salads, the hot offerings are quite limited and could do with a bit more variety. The restaurant is quite chaotic, but the staff on hand are very helpful and great fun (Osama is a great guy!).
We did try the Tex Mex and Italian restaurants, but to be honest the food offering was pretty much the same as in the buffet restaurant - nothing Tex Mex about what was on offer there!
There are seven bars at the hotel. Three are part of the all inclusive package - the main pool bar, a smaller bar adjacent to the Buffet Restaurant) and the beach bar (which serves only soft drinks). There is a separate swim-up pool bar in one of the other pools (very nice, but quite expensive - $6 for a 500ml bottle of beer, $3 for a can of Pepsi) and the Pirates bar, which is very nice and shows sports including football matches.
The all-inclusive offering was a little disappointing - apart from a 'snack' offering on the beach between 4pm and 5pm (usually some grilled chicken and fries) there are no other food options except the scheduled breakfast/lunch or dinner services. The all inclusive main bar is very good though, and this is credit entirely to the wonderful staff on the main bar who really made our holiday special - Hussain, Reda and Mohammed in particular, who are excellent ambassadors for the hotel and really went the extra mile to ensure that the guests were well looked after. Well done guys.
We used two of the pools; the main pool with the all-inclusive bar and the quieter, large pool with th e pay swim-up bar. There was never any shortage of sunbeds and the pool life-guards were very helpful and great fun - especially Shady and Salah at the main pool, and Mohammed at the quieter pool.
Guest are allowed to use the facilities of the sister hotel across the main road (Jaz Sharm Dreams), and its 'Cleo Park' water park. We found that a lot of the visitors from Sharm Dreams preferred the bars at the Jaz Fayrouz though.
Weather was, as you'd expect, amazing. The snorkelling was fantastic.
In summary, despite the rooms being a little dated and the food options being quite limited, we had a wonderful stay at the hotel, and this is down to the...

We stayed at this hotel at the end of March and were extremely disappointed. We chose it based on positive reviews and its 4-star rating, but in reality, it barely deserves two.
Let’s start with the food — absolutely terrible. Every single day it was the same: plain boiled rice, some potatoes, a very limited selection of dishes, and almost no proper desserts. Instead of the expected baklava or traditional sweets, there was just some tasteless jelly. Most of the food was dry and stale — cold cuts, cheese, vegetables — everything was tough and unpleasant to eat.
The alcohol was clearly poor quality — the wine, champagne, and even Coca-Cola tasted off. Glasses were dirty, often with food residue, as if they hadn’t been properly washed. The service was close to zero.
The sea water (Red Sea) at the end of March was freezing cold, even though the sun was burning hot. Don’t believe anyone who says it’s warm this time of year — it’s not. Around 18°C (64°F) max, and barely anyone was swimming. Our family didn’t go in the water at all. Meanwhile, the sun is so intense you can get sunburned in just 30 minutes. There’s no proper balance between the climate and beach comfort.
There was absolutely no entertainment. Nothing for adults, and only a few simple activities for toddlers. Completely boring and poorly organized.
Another major issue — the constant pressure to spend money. Inside and outside the hotel, people follow you trying to sell something, and they just don’t take no for an answer. It’s impossible to enjoy a walk without being bothered.
One of the most disturbing things was that hotel staff came up to us on the beach pretending to “help” with something, then took our phones — supposedly to show us something — and quietly gave the hotel a 5-star review on Google without even telling us. Totally unacceptable and dishonest.
The internet was practically nonexistent. We had to buy three local SIM cards for $30 just to stay connected.
And to make things worse — the dining area is small and overcrowded. On one of the days, some “important guest” decided to reserve the entire outdoor terrace for themselves, leaving nowhere for the rest of us to sit. We had to wait over 30 minutes just to get a table, while it felt like half the kitchen was cooking only for that one group instead of the actual hotel guests.
And the worst part — this place doesn’t match the glowing reviews online. It’s a poor country, a poor hotel, and even the excursions were boring and disappointing. Our whole family was left deeply unhappy. We paid a lot for this trip, and it turned out to be a complete letdown.
I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. Be careful, and don’t make the same...
Read moreThe hotel is located in the oldest vacation area of Sharm-el-Sheikh. Great location at the center of the town with a lot of souvenir shops, bars, clubs, pharmacies and other relatively good infrastructure. It's a nice hub to get the taxi or local bus to any poin in Sharm-el-Sheikh. You can go easily any place you'd like to, doesn't matter is it Old City or Soho Square on another end of the town.
The territory itself is as good as location. It's very green, with a lot of flowers and palm trees. It feels like you are in the garden all the time. Of course, nothing can be ideal, so because it feels like a garden where nature dominate, there are many birds nearby the restaurant lounge trying to get the food from the plates. It's ok, but some people might don't like it.
Workers are hard-working here. Staff is nice here, never had any problem with room service, meals, check-in/out. Everyone si friendly and willing to help.
The beach is great here, too. It's big, sandy and clean with a calm sea. Don't get windy. Most of the beaches in Sharm are rocky, but this one is sandy, even at the bottom. It's very comfortable to get in/out of the water, no any cliffs there. However, if you want to see the reefs, this beach will disappoint you. But you can get a day-trip for reefs in that case.
The food is good there, a lot of fruits and regularly BBQ in the evenings. Seldom we got the seafood, like crabs, prawns, squid. I like that they usually will ask some locals aunties to come on the territory where they can make some local food with their hands. The restaurant pays them, as all their food is free. Also you are able to support their work with buying souvenirs, which they usually bring with themselves (put on the table nearby). This kind of thing is good for everyone: tourists can see how the local food is being cooked, can taste it; the aunties earn some money, and the restaurant gets reputation and good karma :)
The only minus of the hotel is the animation. If they said there is no animation in the hotel, that would be fine. But as it is mentioned there, I went there and really didn't get any understanding what are the animators doing there. Just waste of time, sorry guys, but that's true. UPD: there were several animators who were performing on the small stage just in front of the restaurant while people were having a meal. Those guys were nice, appreciate them. But what I mean above is the main animation "show" which starts at 9 o'clock at the lobby of the nearby hotel (two hotels share the animation team). Those guys are just taking money for nothing.
I recommend the place for a calm family vacation. If you like silence and harmony or you are nature-starving, this hotel is definitely for...
