My experience booking an apartment for 8 people was extremely disappointing. Before booking on Booking.com, I contacted the apartment staff by phone and asked about the possibility of adding extra folding beds, since the listing mentioned 4 single beds and 2 double beds. I was assured that this was possible, so I proceeded to pay a considerable amount for the reservation. However, on the day of check-in, I was told that no extra beds would be provided unless I paid extra — and that the apartment would be at a completely different address. We were faced with this news at the last minute, with no option to cancel or change the booking. If I add up all the costs, I could have rented a luxury apartment elsewhere for the same price. The entire process felt unprofessional and irresponsible on their part. Moreover, the check-in experience was chaotic and stressful. The given address — Pikk 71 — basically doesn’t exist: navigation shows only house no. 69, and the nearest building has a completely different hotel name and street listed. I tried calling multiple times for directions, but no one answered. When I finally found the place, two young women were at the reception. One of them told me she had no idea about my booking or payment and seemed completely unfamiliar with the process. Only after I showed her our messages and paid again did I receive instructions on how to collect the keys. But even then, the keys had to be picked up at one address, while the actual apartment was in a different location. In total, we had to visit three different places and spent over two hours just to get access to the room. Due to all this confusion, my guests — foreign performers — arrived late for their show and had to go on stage without preparation. The performance was shortened, and I had to cover all the losses myself. Conclusion: if you decide to book with this property, make sure to get written confirmation of all agreements in advance. Without that, you’re not guaranteed anything. I do not...
Read moreWhile these apartments have great location and price, be AWARE! I arrived to Tallinn, and I was redirected to a different location that was not where I had initially booked. Although it was a ten minute walk, I had a tight schedule in which accurate check-in information would've been helpful.
I arrive to Tallinn with a close timeline to do a wonderful walking tour, so I was hopeful to leave my luggage at their reception desk, as advertised on their website, but I was informed that I cannot leave it there since I'm not staying at that location. It was news to me. The receptionist was quite rude and stated I should've known as they sent me a text a couple of days ago with the information. This was news to me as I had been traveling in Finland before, and my accommodation was booked 3-4 weeks prior to arrival, and I had different information saved.
Anyway, once I did receive my check-in information from the unfriendly staff, it was like a scavenger hunt to get the keys to the actual unit I was staying in. I had lugged my heavy backpack that I couldn't store for two hours all over Tallinn, and once the walking tour was done, I had to go to a courtyard, use a coded keypad to open a door to use another code to open a lockbox to get keys to the unit that was another 3-4 minute walk away. Once I went to my downstairs unit, I actually was impressed with the space and aesthetics; however, it was VERY muggy/humid as there was no airflow.
I had been traveling via backpack, so I was grateful to have a washing machine present, but I laid my clothes out for 12+ hours with no hopes of them drying due to how humid it was in the unit. There was also significant amounts of mold behind the washer as the shower did not drain and the floor allowed for standing water. The bed was also not very comfortable, as the sheets felt moist due to the moisture/humidity.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend based on the difficult/confusing check-in instructions, unfriendly staff, and mold/shower...
Read moreTallinn City Apartments Old Town Suites offers a fantastic base for exploring the enchanting medieval heart of Tallinn. Its prime location within the Old Town means you're just steps away from countless historical sites, charming cafes, and vibrant shops. The convenience of having so many interesting spots within easy walking distance truly enhances the experience of discovering this beautiful city.||This is a great lodge for travelers with light luggage and plenty of energy, as not all buildings are equipped with elevators. However, the service more than makes up for this. On our first day, we were initially assigned a well-appointed room on the 3rd floor with elevator access at Vana-Posti 7. When a different arrangement became necessary, the apartment crew was incredibly understanding and responsive. They promptly provided us with a different room for our second night at Raekoja Plats 8 and, notably, sent someone to carry all our luggage up to the third floor at Vana-Posti 7. This act of assistance was a tremendous help and truly demonstrated their commitment to guest satisfaction.|Both rooms we experienced were well-equipped and beautifully modeled. The Vana-Posti 7 apartment felt much newer and had a modern aesthetic, while the Raekoja Plats 8 room offered the luxurious bonus of a private sauna and a washing machine inside the bathroom – a welcome amenity for longer stay.||Just a heads-up: picking up and dropping off your keys happens at a separate location, Kullassepa 11. Since this is an apartment rental, not a hotel, don't expect a front desk...
