Goods - The location is excellent and the restaurant/breakfast was good. We also had pizza here and it was nice. The room is quite practical despite being small. We liked the movable hanging system in the room and the sauna was clean and large. Heating was good, plenty of USB plugins.

Bads - The service is very poor here. Our handset didn't work which was never fixed (we asked for three times). Our TV wouldn't cast (to watch Netflix because they have local channels mainly so they are in Finnish) so we raised multiple times and finally we were told they do not actually work. I wish it was working or at least let us know on the first day it doesn't work so I didn't have to waste much time trying to fix the issue thinking it was our devices having issues. We stayed 3 nights and our room was never cleaned once. We asked for our room to be cleaned but we were told due to their new policy they do not clean entire room but it was clear the housekeeping didn't even come to our room (our dirty towels were still on the floor) we had to go down to reception (because our handset doesn't work) and mention our room has not been cleaned, every reception staff will start their response with "due to our new cleaning policy, etc" I had to clarify the issue then they will start apologizing and still nothing happens. I had to go to reception every day to get either fresh towels, tea and milk satchel refills, clean cups, etc. Every response we were getting was that the maintenance people are finished for the day so nothing can be done today but they will look into it tomorrow (then still nothing happens) The reception staff were friendly enough but they are simply message takers and they just leave note on their system and that's it, no follow up. On the last day, our frustration reached the point I had to complain so I expressed my frustration and their response was "because we had privacy card, they didn't clean" this is complete lie as we were 100% sure the privacy card was never placed outside when we left in the morning. We just gave up at this stage and thought what's the point of complaining on the last day. By the way, the shower has a serious design fault, the bathroom floods every time you take shower. That's why we asked for extra towels so we can mop the floor but this never happened until we had to go down and physically ask for more towels and clean the bathroom floor ourselves for next day. Don't stay here unless you are only staying overnight (I think overnight stay is fine here since the location is good and you don't have to worry about dealing with poor maintenance/housekeeping service.) We also had stain on our towel on the first day but we just used it we didn't bother to raise it but I might as well mention it. It was orange stain and wasn't pleasant to wipe our...

I absolutely loved the hotel and truly enjoyed my 1-week stay there! There’s really nothing negative to mention. Everything – from the hotel’s location to the little room amenities – was perfect! The hotel is located very close to the heart of Helsinki, across from a park. I found its location quiet and away from the city craziness, yet surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and shops. The hotel is recently remodeled and renovated, and I must mention that it was impeccably clean every time. My check-in was super fast and smooth. Every single front desk worker was nice, helpful, and professional. I got a room on a high floor with a nice city view, just as I had requested a couple of days before arrival. My room (#611) was spacious, stylish, modern, and smartly designed, plus it was spotlessly clean. All the furniture was in great condition. I absolutely loved the large windows covering the entire wall, which let in plenty of natural light. I could also open them to get fresh air into the room. Everything worked perfectly in my room. I enjoyed having a big, modern TV. The King-size bed was super comfortable! I loved how the designers found a smart solution by replacing the traditional closet with shelves and hooks on the wall to hang and store belongings. There was plenty of storage space all around the room, like little shelves by the bed, a long bench in front of the bed for more storage, and another small bench that also had space inside. There were 2 pairs of slippers and 2 robes provided in the room. The bathroom was large and had a very deep bathtub that fit me perfectly (I’m 6’ tall). The bathroom design in grey tones was very nice. I loved the high-quality bathroom amenities. The Wi-Fi was super fast throughout my entire stay. I also want to mention that the hotel has a sauna, which was free to use. Unfortunately, it closes kind of early, at 9 p.m. if I remember correctly. I wish it stayed open until 11 p.m. or midnight. That would be my only request for the hotel. The breakfast was great – the food was delicious every single day. I paid €132 per night for my stay, and I find that price reasonable for such a high-quality hotel. If I come back to Helsinki, without any doubt I will stay only at this hotel. And I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It is truly Scandic...

LOCATION - excellent: we just got a tram from the ferry & walked few short blocks to the hotel & never used transport afterwards. There are homeless people around but luckily it was very safe around the hotel area. easy check in/out. STAFF at the reception was excellent: very welcoming, accommodating & helpful. BREAKFAST - varied with a selection of cold cuts, vegetables, canned/marinated stuff, pastry & some pre-maid things like omelette, few kinds of pancakes, sausages, meatballs, jams, etc. Breakfast hours are also very convenient and cater for both early birds & late risers. GYM - is quite large & has a separate room for stretching/yoga that you can close for comfort. SAUNA - exists, works, is complementary (free) & the hours are convenient, but we didn't have time to use it so I don't know more. STORAGE - They have a very safe storage room where you can put your luggage if you arrive too early or leave late. It had a special lock that they give you so we were very sure our luggage would be ok which it was. ROOM LARGER than I thought. QUIET but of course you do get a little sound from the outside, nothing too much despite the central location. LIGHT - Blackout curtains & flexible bright daylight to night mode lights setting was very convenient. BED - ok. The mattress was too soft to my liking but it wasn't anything critical. A/C in the room also worked perfect & we were able to tweak the settings for the optimal temp. OUTLET by each side of the bed so you can indulge in using phone before going to bed & charge it at the same time.

Disliked: Nothing critical, more like pointers for even better experience of future guests: Coffee in the breakfast area was horrible: not an espresso machine but a coffee-smelling liquid that just pours out of the container. Please invest in a coffee machine, it would make a world of difference for the coffee lovers & just normal people too. It would be nice to be able to open the room windows to let the fresh air in: ours were locked with no handles. Please add a cloudberry liquor to the mini bar or cloudberry jam/jelly: we found that it is a typical drink/jam & really wanted to try but didn't have time to find it in the stores. We'd be happy to pay for it had we found it in the mini bar. Again, not a critique but...

We spent a few nights here in June 2025. We arrived late at night and the front desk was staffed. The agent was a bit rude about our not using our key card to enter, and we explained that we were there to check in. She then chided us for not using the doorbell, and I explained that I tried it three times, after which she conceded it often did not work. That was the worst service of our entire stay, and it was minimal. Overall, the service was very good, cheerful and friendly. We booked a room without a window and we were a bit anxious about how it would be. Overall, it was very nice. Good ventilation, good light thanks to a skylight and well designed interior lighting. The room was much larger than we anticipated and thoughtfully laid out. It included a mini fridge, safe, a work space, giant TV, iron and ironing board, and places to store clothing as well as a large, very comfortable bed. The things we struggled with were the dormer ceiling (my partner is tall) and the design of the shower and tub. It was a very deep tub and super awkward for both of us to get in and out. The opening is only halfway closed, so it was difficult to not get water on the floor of the bathroom. Maybe we are just not used to these things. The gym in the basement is amazing, the best I have ever seen in a lodging. Free weights, machines, a separate yoga/stretching room. There's also a sauna, which we did not use. The location of the hotel is fantastic. Across from a park, very walkable to downtown and many attractions, near cafes and restaurants. It was very quiet. We were very pleased with our stay.
