Polar Star Apartments — Hotel in Tunturi-Lapin seutukunta

There was a mistake with our booking, Polar Travels had booked two apartments at Polar Star Apartments instead of the one we booked, Polar Travels took no responsibility and refused to repay the price that had been paid for the other apartment. The quality of the apartments was horrific and in no way in line with the high price that was charged, for example, the Polar Star Apartments are located on the backyard of the super market chain store in Levi. There were foodstains on the walls, the cupboards, big stains on the sofas, wholes in the roof and in the walls. Lots of disgusting hairs and dirt in the beds. The owner of Polar Star Travel was extremely unhelpful, and refused to do anything about the mis-communication that apparently is completely misleading on purpose to lure customers to make a booking, after which the unusual cancellation terms doesn't allow the customer to cancel the booking. Our Christmas holiday was ruined. For anyone who is interested in experiencing the beautiful Lapland, we recommend to rent a cottage from other agents or to use the hotel chains, that have normal cancellation terms and that are happy to have repeating customers, and thus interested to give customer service. As Finnish citizens, we hope that no tourists will be ripped off the way we were, we think there are much better alternatives...

Group of cottage accommodation close to the town centre and resort. Cosy cottages with mezzanine floor, sauna room, drying cupboard, dishwasher, wifi, logfire, but no sofa! We are a family of 4 and there are 2 singles set up in the living area but nowhere to sit apart from dining room chairs. The beds on the mezzanine are just mattresses on the floor with barely any headroom to make up the beds. The cottages are just a few minutes...

Comfortable, clean and cosy. All basics are covered. The only downside was that we couldn't get the log fire going without smoking the apartment out, despite following instructions, so that was disappointing. But with so much snow fun to be had outside, you don't spend much time inside anyway! The sauna was a nice treat. Comfy beds and enough bedding. Very warm and cosy inside, even when it was -20 out.
