There are only 8 apartments in this little place, ours (2 bed + cabin) was really spacious for 4 of us (2 adults 2 teenagers) and light. Spread over 2 floors we had doors to a small balcony off the lounge and one of the bedrooms downstairs opened directly onto the snow. One of the bedrooms downstairs had no window- but we actually quite liked the total darkness and the quiet this gave- it was easily the largest bedroom we’ve ever had in a french ski resort. The staff here were super friendly and Altho the reception isn’t staffed 24/7 it was never a problem. The bag of wood provided lasted us all week (the apartment was so warm we didn’t really need to light the fire tho!). You can order bread delivered to your door each morning- you just have to remember to stick your order form outside by 7pm! The boot room really does heat your boots (unlike others we have stayed at!), and husband reported that the sauna was lovely! Oh- and they provide fluffy dressing gowns which was a real treat! The kitchen also has a proper oven. The only thing to be aware of- which wasn’t an issue for us, but might be if you have younger children is that the bunk bed cabin was just off the lounge, so whoever sleeps there really has to go to bed last! Oh and there was no English channels on the TV so we were forced to play cards and actually talk to each other every evening!!!!||All in all a really...
Read moreWe stayed at Les Ancolies in Val Thorens over New Year week 2024/25.||The Front Desk ladies made us feel at home the min we arrived. They can’t promise early check in before 4pm, but we arrived at 9am on the Saturday and the room was ready. They were incredibly helpful with everything from sorting our laundry to booking restaurants and corresponding with Valthoparc.||The accommodation exceeded our expectations and the location was just incredible. I expected there to be at least some noise due to Restaurant Rendezvous, however there wasn’t. (Great restaurant btw and we ate there twice). The apartments were very quiet and comfortable and true ski in, ski out. The ski/boot locker room was never busy and the huge lockers are the best I’ve ever had with working boot warmers. ||The Kids would play in the snow, right on the piste, literally outside the bedroom door and drop off for ski school was a 200 yard ski down from the apt.||And the best view of the New Year Fireworks. Our own personal display, viewed from the balcony!||We would...
Read moreGreat ski in ski out hotel, centrally located on Rue de soleil and only minutes away from the ESF école de ski for kids. Next door is a nice bistro rendez-vous which is also where the Oxygène private classes meet. Basically everything at your door step, with a supermarket just a short walk down the road and ski rentals 5 minutes up the slope.
We got one which could accommodate more than 9 adults and 3 children. The premise was clean, well equipped and most importantly, very warm :)
Service was also impeccable. We had some issues with an infant in the childcare centre and the lady at reception Madame Natasha went the extra mile to help us go through the list of baby sitters provided by the tourism office. Such genuine and warm hospitality. Cannot thank her and another younger lady staff for all their help and recommendations. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone coming to Val Thorens and certainly would choose to stay here again on my...
