Jasper — Restaurant in Albertville

The Worst restaurant experience of my life. The waiter Renaud was the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of meeting, and the staff were completely incompetent. He was nasty to our table and couldn’t organise anything, spending most the time laughing on his phone whilst staff looked clueless. Other customers agreed and recent reviews on trip advisor say the same thing. Most of the staff were just stood around having a joke when food was coming out late and they made no effort to apologise. It’s like none of them had received any training or had any ability to be friendly. Wouldn’t expect this type of service from a McDonald’s never mind a restaurant charging you €20 for tinned tomato soup. Avoid this place at all...

We stayed in Village Montana above Jasper and ate here for breakfast on 2 occasions. Limited hot food (questionably hot) which we had to wait for. Continental breakfast was good but also limited. Excellent coffee brings this rating up to a 3 star.

Dinner was a different story. Dirty plates and long waits. We ordered a hot stone and raclette grill, which took 50 minutes to arrive - that’s fine, but both of these dishes require us to cook at the table! We had a rather entertaining experience where the hot stone set fire to itself which was calmly dealt with. The food and evening was very delightful in the end, mostly down to the company. Really nicely located place right by the ski school but unfortunately ruined by the terrible staff. Four waiters on a relatively empty terrace left us waiting for close to half an hour. When we tried to fetch our own drinks they became rather rude and left us waiting some more. After another, admittedly not too friendly reminder by me, the young waiter with black curls told us to find another restaurant if we didn‘t like it. Great advice!
