I stayed at Résidence Village Montana Val Thorens expecting a comfortable and convenient ski holiday, but the experience was far from what was promised.
First off, the beds were awful – thin, lumpy mattresses that felt more like camp beds than something you’d expect in a supposed 4-star residence. Sleep was near impossible. The apartment itself was poorly maintained: walls were dusty and cobwebbed, light switches either didn’t work or were literally hanging off the wall. It felt neglected.
One of the main reasons I booked this place was for the on-site spa – never once was it disclosed that it would be closed. That’s a pretty big omission and left us without a key amenity we were really looking forward to.
They also proudly advertise "ski-in, ski-out" access. Not true. Unless you consider walking uphill in ski boots to the nearest slope “ski-out.” Completely misleading. The same goes for their claim of a 24/7 reception – we arrived just after 9pm to locked doors and no one in sight. Apparently, they close for the night without warning.
To top it all off, they had the nerve to charge us a cleaning fee because we left the room “dirty,” despite there being no mention in the terms or during check-in that we were expected to deep-clean the place ourselves. No welcome book, no instructions – just a surprise charge.
And finally, the terrace had a nice view, but no chair to sit outside. For a property of this price point, that’s just lazy.
Overall, this place was a letdown – misrepresented, uncomfortable, and run without care. I wouldn’t stay here again, and I wouldn't recommend it unless they drastically improve their standards...
Read moreSki in ski out ish come end of march only hotel truly ski out would be the premier. Stayed over the road in the solice. We had to cross the road to ski out and walk a steep hill to get in. Not terrible but tiring especially with kids. |Overall ski area is fab with loads of runs for the kids in green and blue and some more tricky for the adults. Slalom is a speedy thrill. Is this family friendly? kind of I would say. More suited to the drunks really though very noisy at night especially if your unfortunate as we were to be on the road. Lairy drunks flow noisily between 10-2am most nights quite a show to watch when the police come out to not ideal for a good night sleep. Rooms basic but clean missing lots of items but quickly replaced when asked at reception. Eg we didn’t have a toaster cheese grater these were quickly brought to the room. More pillows requested and again brought straight up!|Boot room lovely modern and heated so no soggy gloves. Jaspers well worth a visit. Spar supermarket holding most essentials. We we return probably not due to the drunks. Cosmojet sledge worth a go...
Read moreThis place was a total garbage experience. First I want to start with the service. service was OK, front desk feels like a third party no one can really help beside give you room key. The rooms are 100% trash! smells like soaking socks, the beds bathroom and shower was a nightmare, cold water cheap mattress and no heating. The restaurants downstairs was the WORST!! It’s so bad that the hotel says it’s not part of the hotel but they do offer breaksfast and diner as part of their deal (the restaurant is in the downstairs and they clearly say it’s operated by them) But front desk does not know what restaurant you speak about lol. And for dessert they stole 166 euro of our credit card. When I asked why they sent a picture of 3 empty bottles on the table and a close trash bag in the kitchen saying we damaged the room and blah blah. Ive Ben trying to speak some sense with them but no luck, had to call my bank to cancel that charge. Do your self a favor, if your not a dog stay away...
