The hotel - This hotel is very very old. We arrived and had to wait nearly half an hour to check in, since there was only 2 people working. The receptionist was far from friendly, and didn't give us any information about the hotel, like where our ski lockers were, which we had to go searching for. The location is exceptional but that is about it. The walls and floor are as thin as paper. We were twice kept up until 5am by the drunk people screaming and singing above us. Even the movement of a chair makes a really loud noise in the room below.||The room - 5 minute walk from reception, through a corridor that is basically outdoors, so freezing. Then you have to wait for a lift that honestly could be 50+ years old. You'd be quicker scaling the outside of the building. The front room was tiny and cramped, with 2 beds in it, that were far too close to one another. The bedrooms are fine, but all of us woke up with blocked noses everyday, I think there was mould in the room.||Parking - When we arrived on our first day, having requested parking, and told by email that that request was acceptable, we were informed that the parking was full, and we had to park 2 miles away in P4. The member of staff dealing with us, who was anything but friendly, said that we could park on the road until the morning though, and then move the car then. We got a parking ticket earlier that morning in the space we were told to park. ||The Restaurant - We ate here once, and got takeaway once. On the surface it looks lovely in there. However I ordered the mixed grill, and felt like the sausage was a bit squishy, then I looked at the next bit on my skewer, chicken - completely raw. Took it back, got some shots as an apology, and reordered a pizza, which was nice even though it took 30 minutes because they had to prioritise takeaways! So 2 days later we ordered pizza takeaway, walked all the way to the restaurant, then all the way back, opened the box and I had the wrong size and type of pizza. So marched all the way back to get it changed, not even an apology.||Do not...
Read moreAwful stay! When we arrived to the apartment it was dirty, the bed was covered in hair, pasta on the floor, stained doors and walls. You have to put the sheets on the bed yourself too when you arrive and after a long day of travelling this isn’t what you want. Reception gave a sheet which we needed to fill out to state if there was anything wrong with the room when we arrived to ensure we received our deposit of €200 which we had to pay when we got there back. To take a deposit for a room which was already filthy is beyond me. We stayed in a 5 person apartment, you are given 1 roll of toilet roll to last you for your trip we stayed a week and this didn’t last long, same with the towels we were given. When asking for more toilet roll and towels we were told we would have to pay for these! |Reception were rude and unprofessional, when I approached them about the state of our room a lady called Celine said you can email the pictures you took of the room to me. She had no remorse whatsoever that we had turned up to a dirty, unclean room. She was so unhelpful and didn’t even offer for someone to come back and clean the room properly. She handed me a note with an email written down, when trying to forward over these pictures to the email i was given it came back saying this email wasn’t found. I then went back down to reception and asked her to type into my phone a REAL email address to which she did and the difference in the two emails she gave me was a joke, she was clearly trying to ensure the pictures didn’t get emailed and we’d loose our deposit. When asking for directions to a ski lift near by they looked at eachother and laughed and continued to speak in french. You can’t control the temperature of your own room as there’s no thermostat so some nights your warm and some nights your freezing. Overall AWFUL stay, awful staff and awful...
Read moreBooked for skiing trip on a budget. One bedroomed apartment with a twin room and sofa bed in the living room was great for 3 people.||The small kitchen area is well equipped having a hob and microwave, which I think had a grill. No oven; this is good because you are responsible for cleaning the kitchen and it is easier to clean a hob than an oven.|Linen was provided. Towels were a bit small. I suggest you take your own.|There is a ski locker room on each floor with boot warmers so not far to stagger back to your rooms after a hard day on the slopes.|The flat has a bath and hot water was not a problem. Good if you want a soak to ease the muscles.|Access to slopes is either at level 6 at the back of the building straight onto a green/blue slope, alternatively walk through Temples du Soleil to the lifts which will take you straight down to the nursery slopes.|There is a supermarket in Temple du Soleil which can be reached via a tunnel next to the lift. It is expensive so we used the Spa which is 5 mins walk away; still expensive (understandable since everything has to be transported up the mountain), but slightly less so.|There is a baker just up the road for baguettes and pastries and if you fancy a night off cooking La Grange Pizzeria in Temple du Soleil make excellent take out pizzas.|Make sure you leave the flat spotlessly clean to avoid surcharges.|Only complaints are that the sofa bed was not very comfortable and it can be a little noisy but overall very good value; genuine ski in ski out onto one of the best ski...
