Hôtel De Londres — Hotel in Boulogne-sur-Mer

We booked this hotel last minute as we decided to take a weekend trip to France via the Eurotunnel and we thought it would not be too far to travel especially as we were staying only one night. Looking at the reviews we picked this hotel. ||We phoned the hotel when we were about an hour away to be greeted by a very polite and friendly gentleman, nothing seemed too much trouble.||Yes, the hotel is opposite a very small bus station, however, nothing to be concerned about. There is no parking outside but a few spaces on the right hand side which you could drop off luggage etc. There is a big car park just over the bridge about 200m away and it's free. ||The hotel from the outside was perhaps to some a bit off putting, however, if you are used to France then you don't ever take the book by the cover.||The gentleman met us at the door and was very polite and welcoming, the hotel had a very secure front door.||We were on the third floor and there is a very and I mean, very, small lift. We only used it once as we can manage the stairs which are sort of spiral.||The room décor was shabby chic and really lovely, it was warm and the windows looked new. It was very clean. The room was just big enough for two. There was room to hang clothes although the hangers were a bit worn and our clothes kept falling off the hooks but that did not worry us. The bed was comfy, although it did roll towards the middle slightly, the sheets and pillow cases were very clean and fresh.||The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water, however, the en suite was small.||There was a TV in the room which worked OK and free wifi which worked really well. Our room was at the back of the hotel so we did not experience any outside noise. However, the room sound insulation was practically non existent. We could hear other guests very clearly, doors and the lift. In fact other guests were very late getting back to the hotel after a evening out and it woke us up at 2am! The hotel does have a notice in the lobby asking guests to consider others, unfortunately, these people did not read it. I think really that was the only downside to our stay. We cannot comment on the breakfast as we did not require any. All in all, great location, good...

We stayed in the family room for one night on the way back to Calais. The hotel is lovely inside, very French and much better than it looks from the outside. Especially as there is building work going on in front of the hotel at the minute. The family room was great and perfectly adequate for the 5 of us. (2 adults, 2 fourteen year olds and a twelve year old). We all had a great night sleep and did not hear a thing from any of the other rooms or from outside. |The hotel is a couple of mins walk from what seems to be one of the main streets where there was plenty of bars, restaurants, bakery’s and shops. |We had breakfast which was fantastic. Plenty of tea and coffee and orange juice and lots of pastry’s and baguettes. We only finished about half of what we were given.|Parking is not perfect. We were told to park by the casino for free which seemed along way away so we decided to park next to the river estuary. It quoted approx 17 euros for 24 hours. We parked up at 5ish in the evening and left at 9 the next morning and we were charged 7 euros. This car park is no more than 2 mins walk away.|All in all, a very nice stay. Hôtel de Londres vs Hôtel Horror peut être ?||Je pense que cet hôtel devrait être fermé!!! Il ne mérite aucune étoile! ||L’emplacement ouf, ça fait peur! Un quartier défavorisé, sale, et j’en passe…. ||Le parking en réalité ce n’est pas un parking propre à l’hôtel mais bien les places qui traînent quand il y en a au petit bonheur la chance entre les riverains… Quand on voit l’état des véhicules là bas, ça fait peur!|||L’acceuil est quasiment inexistant, pas de présentation de la chambre rien… une clef à l’ancienne comme il y a 50 ans et un porte clef immense encombrant qui ressemble à un bricolage d’enfant plutôt qu’à un objet professionnel!||L’ascenseur , c’est le retour fin 1960, il est minuscule, il pue le vieux, c’est vraiment un autre monde! Les escaliers même la rambarde manque de peinture alors bon…. Faut pas trop demander!!!!||La chambre petite, ps de moustiquaire, pas d’air conditionné, pas de ventilateur encore bien on en emporte toujours un avec au cas où…. Sans lui il aurait été impossible de dormir…. ||L’odeur dans la chambre comme tout l’hôtel pue le vieux… la literie est fortement usée, les coussins très plat, le drap et une couverture encore une fois comme dans les années 60, qui utilise encore cela??? Les vitres on ne peut pas dire qu’elles sont nettoyé même l’intérieur des châssis n’est pas nettoyé….||La salle de bain est une catastrophe! Déjà ça pue le vieux mais ça pue les relents d’égouts jour et nuit! La lunette du Wc n’est même as adapté à la cuvette c’est du n’importe quoi! La douche il faut l’enjamber et ensuite le bac est petit et le rideau en tissu est sans cesse entrain de se coller à vous même, ce n’est pas hygiénique ni fonctionnel ! Les joints de silicone veulent tout dire niveau entretient… l’après midi impossible d’avoir de l’eau chaude il faut attendre le soir ou le matin…. Le PQ c’est un distributeur Lotus de petites feuilles pour user le moins possible encore une fois….|||Petit déjeuner 8 euros par personne mais nous avons fait l’impasse, celui qui veut bien déjeuner rendez vous « aux farines d’emilie » à 3 min à pied et vous y trouverez un accueil chaleureux et des produit de top qualité, évitez le « chez sophie » qui n’est que de l’industriel et pas bon …..||Peu voir pas de contact, pas de réponses à nos questions par les propriétaires on s’est entendu dire allez à l’office du tourisme c’est là que j’envoie tout le monde…||Pas de mini frigo, pas de bouilloire, le café servir en bas au déjeuné et dans les chambres est du café fait à la cafetière! Qui boit encore cette infamerie hormis les vieux !|En fait cet hôtel c’est un peu l’image du mec : Je suis né dans cette maison et rien n’a evolué!||L’hôtel est vieux vétuste pas entretenu du tout… il ne vaut pas ses deux étoiles, je suis habitué au voyages mais pas à voir cela!!!! Point positif le wifi fonctionne à 100% ;-)||Voilà je pense qu’il faut accepter la remise en question et surtout apprendre à évoluer quand on veut travailler dans ce milieu, je n’ai rien...
