Stayed here for 4 nights in Mar 2023.
Overall we were very happy with this hotel. It is a small hotel on a very quiet lane off a main straight just 2 minutes from Jardins du Luxembourg. The photos on Google and also on the Hotel website are very accurate, we stayed in a double room which looked exactly like the website.
The room was on the second floor (lift available) and had a large window looking into a small central courtyard. The room was on its on on one side of the hallway and therefore was very quiet with very little noise carrying from outside the corridor. It is cosy and small (to be expected from most hotels in Paris) but was plenty for two people.
There was a good size tv which when turned on had a live webcams looking over the opposite roof toward the Eiffel Tower which was a nice touch. There was also a fridge which was a little noisy initially but you soon get used to it. An iron and ironing board was also quickly delivered to the room once requested.
There was an en-suite bathroom with a large walk in shower with a rainfall head. Towels and toiletries were provided and refreshed each day, there was a heated lit mirror and also a hairdryer available.
The reception was modern in decor and there were a handful of seats and tables available, other guests had some breakfast during our stay, we also enjoyed a bottle of wine one evening, it’s a relaxed quiet place to have a quiet drink.
There is a small bar available - menu pics attached. The bar offers some wine and some sprits and cocktails, although the cocktails are pre-mixed and therefore the bar is somewhat limited. Nevertheless the wine was good value.
The staff at the reception are very pleasant, professional and friendly. Each staff member is very obliging and they make an effort to make you feel welcome and do their best to fulfil your request.
Almost all of the popular attractions in Paris are within walking distance. The Eiffel Tower, Montparnasse tower, Montmartre, Marais, Notre Dame etc are all only a walk away. There are busses, trains and the metro within 10mins walk of the hotel but of course taxis or Ubers are readily available. There are also plenty of nice bars, boulangerie, restaurants (inc Michelin star) and coffee shops within minutes.
Overall I thought this hotel was excellent value and really enjoyed the stay. The decor is very pleasant and the rooms and furniture are very comfortable. The location is great and it is great value for money. Would...
Read moreWe had stayed here in 2024 and decided to come back again this year. Returning from dinner at 11:30pm we prepared our luggage for a 7am departure and went to sleep. In the morning, we realized that my purse, my husband's passport pouch and wallet were gone. The window was still on the loose latch (as we found it on check in) and the door double-locked from the inside.||||We immediately alerted the front desk who called the police and reviewed the cameras. No one entered our room from the hallway between 1130pm and 6am. The crime scene police officers arrived and after taking fingerprints confirmed that the thief entered our room by climbing up the exterior wall, over the balcony railing, and through the latched window WHILE WE WERE ASLEEP.||||Were we followed back from dinner (30 min walk)? Was it an inside job? Was it opportunistic? Was it random? No one can say.||||We requested that the hotel use their insurance to help cover the costs of the stolen items ($5,000US) but we were told that their insurance company denied the claim since we were in the room during the theft. Is it their belief that our waking up and confronting a thief in the dark would have been preferable? We had hoped the hotel would have fought harder for us. Adding insult to injury, we received a very assertive email from them demanding that we pay for the room the night of the break in.||||We are very disappointed in the hotel's response (other than the 2 complimentary nights they offered). We are out a great deal of money as our travel insurance does not cover travel expenses incurred due to theft of a passport in addition to the value of the items that were stolen. This was the most terrifying travel experience we've ever had. A hotel's most basic promise is a safe place to sleep. In this case, that didn’t happen and thus we cannot...
