I don’t usually review hotels because I get what I pay for, but this review is specifically for the breakfast experience.
It needs to be mentioned that the food options are very limited, and sometimes tongs are missing, or they put sausages (don’t know if pork or not because it doesn’t say anywhere) touching scrambled eggs.
On top of this, there aren’t any plates you can pick up from the buffet, but you pick up the plate from the table which has already been set for you and you go with it. One time I wanted to take three plates for myself because I don’t like to mix sweet and savoury and I want a plate for extras. The kitchen lady (the woman in charge of the breakfast area and kitchen) came and asked me if anyone else was sitting. I said no and she wanted to remove my third plate as it was empty. I said no, I want the plate. She still took it; I suspect it was because she didn’t want me to get the plate dirty. Coming on to the kitchen ladies’ experience now. It was horrible.
I don’t care how nice they are as human beings, but they are working in a hotel which hosts international guests from all over the world and they cannot, I shit you not, even understand the basic numbers from 1-10 in English. THEY come to you when you sit down and ask you for your room number. It is a struggle if you don’t speak French or have not understood that they can’t speak English to save their lives so you get your fingers out. This is obviously on top of any other requests you might have in the breakfast area where you either have to use a translating app, speak French or become a clown trying to gesture with your arms and legs.
ON TOP of everything else, they look at you very ominously when you are taking food or eating, as if the food is theirs and you are depriving them of it. I don’t know if this is my misconception or just a misunderstanding, but it makes my mornings not something to look forward to.
Another thing I noticed was that only two people are allowed at the elevator at one time. If it’s so old maybe it’s time to change it.
Last complaint is that the hotel could not provide enough teeth cleaning kits (toothbrush, toothpaste) for my needs. I am aware that everybody should bring their hygienic items with them, but that was not the case this time, and a hotel with this price/night must have these basic necessities at hand.
Other than these, it was actually very nice. Location is great with a supermarket just opposite. Reception staff is very helpful, kind, and bilingual. They offer sparkling water from a machine in the hall, which is lovely because I love sparkling water. Rooms are cleaned daily by the kitchen ladies, I think. Oh, I almost forgot. At least in my room, the tap was soooooo close to the sink that sometimes my hand blocked it, and water sprayed. I don’t know who the genius behind it was, but better get a refund.
This was my honest review. I have used AI to get spell checks and grammar in place, and all the thoughts in this review are mine...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel during Christmas, and it was a fantastic experience! Located in the 17th district of Paris, the hotel is very close to two metro stations: Argentine and Porte Maillot. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, with plenty of amenities nearby, including restaurants, bars, a pharmacy, and a grocery store (which is also open on Sundays).
The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and professional, which made the stay even more enjoyable. There is an elevator, and my room was fully equipped with a comfortable bed and a bathroom featuring both a bathtub and a shower – definitely a plus! The room also had a kettle with coffee and tea, which was a nice touch.
We tried the breakfast offered by the hotel, which was excellent. The hotel provides great value for the price. For those traveling from Beauvais Airport, the nearby La Défense Terminal Jules Verne and Porte Maillot stations make transportation very convenient.
Additionally, the hotel offers complimentary amenities such as a water dispenser and a coffee machine with various syrups available 24/7. They also frequently provide French pastries and sweets for guests to enjoy. The French breakfast was delightful, and the entire hotel staff was incredibly kind and welcoming.
Overall, this hotel offers excellent quality at a reasonable price. Highly...
