A nice, small family run Lebanese restaurant just a short walk from the Arc de Triomphe. The restaurant provided a cozy atmosphere, despite my wife and I being the first people to arrive at the restaurant around 7.30pm. Upon arrival our greeting was not as welcoming as you might expect, especially for the first customers of the evening. But the service was prompt, with well prepared food and it arrived fairly quickly.
We ordered the individual set mezza’s, which is our usual go-to option with Lebanese cuisine. We specifically order the mezza expecting the chef to throw in something we have not tried before. This time we didn’t get anything exciting, just the “standard” items you would receive at any Mediterranean restaurant around the world. We were also surprised when all the items; hummus, meats, pitta etc were all presented on a single plate. Especially as we were in a nice family restaurant and not a fast food joint! We generally expect lots of smaller plates, which adds to the overall experience of the meal and makes it easier to share. Not the end of the world, but based on the luke warm reception, overall food presentation and the average portions we would not rate this as one of the best Lebanese restaurants we have ever been to.
However, we had a nice meal in a cozy setting for a reasonable price. Not easy in Paris! Overall we did enjoy the experience so worth a try if you have not...
Read moreFor a second visit, i would indeed recommend this restaurant. After having best service in ordering and diving into best lebanese cuisine dishes, I am more convinced that Janna is able to provide all the time their distinguished mouthwatering lebanese made kebabs with their side cold and hot entrees.
Janna is an absolute gem in the heart of Paris, offering an exquisite Lebanese dining experience that transports your taste buds to the Middle East. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with an inviting atmosphere that combines elegance and warmth. The menu is a true journey through Lebanese culinary traditions, showcasing a delectable array of dishes bursting with authentic flavors.
The mezze selection is a highlight not to be missed. The hummus is velvety and rich, the falafel perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The grape leaves are a delicate delight, and the baba ganoush, a symphony of smoky goodness. The main courses continue to impress, with succulent shawarma, perfectly grilled kebabs, and fragrant rice dishes that leave you craving for more.
The service at Janna is impeccable, with attentive staff who are more than happy to guide you through the menu and provide recommendations based on your preferences. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Lebanese cuisine or a newcomer eager to explore new flavors, Janna caters to...
Read moreI studied French all through highschool. That was 40 years ago. J'essaie, mais je parle Francais tres mal. Perhaps this was part of the problem tonight, maybe it was because I wasn't dressed well, or perhaps as a solo diner I didn't represent a great deal of revenue.. Whatever the cause- the service was completely indifferent. Anyway- the food wasn't bad. The hummous was good, the pitas pas mal. The beef in my shawarma was a little tough, the garlic sauce was kinda bland, the tabbouleh was about a 7.3. Would I go again? Sure. But I hope they treat me better next time or I'll just start spending my money at the Indian place down the street.
Edit after 3 additional visits Service much better, food is quite good. Bumping my initial 3 stars up to 4 (would even offer up a 4.5) I...
