Kifune — Restaurant in Paris

The fish is really fresh and of a high quality here. It looks like there are a lot of Japaneese clients here (even the menu is FR / JP), which reinforces the authenticity of the place.

BUT next to it there are quite many down points. First, it way too expensive for what it is (we paid 22€ for the standard sashimi set of 12 pieces, 10 for a pulpe salad and 8 for the miso soup), and to be full you definitely need to double or even triple the order. Second, the interior is not cozy, it feels quite packed and quite cheap as well. And third esthetically the dishes are nothing to show for...

This place offers fresh sushi and Japanese cuisine. The sushi was very fresh indeed and therefore tasted great but we have been to other traditional Japanese restaurants with fresh sushi and we have had better for slightly less money. It was good but I am not sure it's worth coming all the way from the other side of town (we live in the area).

Service wise, the person who received us seemed to be a nervous lady of a certain age and although we didn't mind I believe some people may feel offended by her approach. I think it is mainly due to language barriers but could come across as pretty rude.

Overall not impressed, expensive...

The food is authentic and delicious, the staff was very nice except for the guy behind the counter. He said something rude in Japanese which I understood (no clue why he had to be rude, we ordered many dishes which we ate it up delightfully. He was talking to the other staff that he wanted us to leave soon even though it was just 1.5hrs after the restaurant opened🤷‍♀️).The lady stopped him but he assumed I won’t understand Japanese probably because I was speaking English with my husband.
