I was really torn how to rate this hotel! All the problems with it are due to how old the building is, and they are trying their best with what they have, but that doesn't make it accessible or give it much space. The Bad: - The stairs! Oh the stairs! They go sideways and slanted and they are terrifying. When you get out of the elevator (which can hold at most 2 people or one person with a suitcase) you still have to drag your bags up stairs. If you have any mobility issues, you should skip this hotel. - I've stayed in smaller rooms, but this was pretty tight for two people with luggage. Low ceilings as well. - The lighting was so dark in the room even with every light turned on. The bathroom was luckily fine. - Shower only had a detachable head, which you absolutely had to detach or else you flooded the entire bathroom (you still did a bit no matter what). Shower was not fully enclosed and was quite slippery. The Not Sure: - You get one key (a punch card) and have to leave it at the front desk when you leave the hotel, and they give it back when you return but without checking ID. It was usually the same person we left it with but I was surprised to have such an old system when it wasn't a metal key. The Good: - Staff was so friendly and helpful! We were able to borrow an iron and ironing board (our only hotel without one, which was not surprising with the size of the room) as needed, and they helped us book a next day taxi for our very early flight. Everyone spoke English for these lousy Canadians. - It had a cute lobby and small dining area (which we did not use). - The front was decorated with pink flowers! - The location was fantastic! Just a couple minutes from the Metro (which we initially took from our train station directly to the hotel). This line gets you to all the main attractions super easy. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and shops and is only a few minutes walk to the Seine River. - Crooked stairs aside, it had personality (ie flamingo wallpaper) :)

The experience at this hotel ruined our trip to Paris and the owner of the hotel did not care at all to make the matter right. I followed up by email with management 4 times, with only one response that did not resolve the issue whatsoever. The owner, Julie does not respond when you reach out to resolve a problem. The stay here was disappointment after disappointment. 1. The hotel room was covered in dust and mold- including the lamp, window, sheets, bathroom, towel rack and staircase. It looked like housekeeping didn't clean the room or linen based on the thick layer of dust covering everything. Pictures are attached below. 2. We moved rooms the next day. Unfortunately, the problems continued to go downhill. We were told there would be three beds, but got put in a room with two beds. Now three adults were sharing two small beds. The front desk assured me that they would give us three beds tomorrow. Did that happen? No. Then, they assured me the following day there would be the correct amount of beds. Once again, for the second day in a row that did not happen. We did not sleep well being crammed into a small bed. 3. The hotel needs mouse traps set up. I was talking to the front desk and was greeted by a mouse running by my feet and was told they are aware there is a mouse problem. We did not go on a vacation to be sleeping in dust, mold, crusty mattress pad, or to be sleeping in the same bed. There are many other hotels to stay at the are clean, and have management that is responsive, do not book a stay here.

I'm not sure how this hotel has such high ratings. I would imagine that if you visit this hotel during colder months it would be okay. I felt that I was profiled by the receptionist, being a solo male traveller. Before assigning my room, the receptionist consulted with housekeeping staff. I believe I was given the worst room in the hotel based on being a solo male traveller, room 17. As you can see from the photos, the inside room temperature was almost 30 degrees Celsius at around noon. I wanted to open my window, as the outside temperature was very pleasant. However, as you can see from the photos, my view was of the exhaust fan of the hotel's kitchen. The provided fans did help somewhat. But again, from my photos, you can see that the fans were both caked in dust and blowing out dust bunnies. If you have dust allergies, you should avoid this place like the plague. The fans created a dust vortex in the room to the point where I felt I was coughing up a lung and my eyes were swollen. After the first night, I booked at the Courtyard and forfeited the remaining 2 nights at this property, as I booked on Expedia, and the hotel had a no refund policy. Thankfully, I had some points to redeem. I'm convinced that the positive reviews here are fake reviews. The emails from Marie Courier also seem fake and must be the alias of the gentleman working at reception.

This hotel was unacceptable. The price gauging for the olympics may have lead me to book a lesser hotel than i would have got in this price range ordinarily and perhaps i should have spent more for a better hotel but the rooms are tiny and run down. All members of staff are rude or inconsiderate barring one lovely young man who checked me in and was there on occasion on front desk. There is no AC, there is no curtain or blinds for the bathroom window, the room has to be under 100 square foot its genuinely that small, the shower is either unbearably hot or too cold and when you finally get it right youll get a random blast of hot water come through without touching anything, all of the walls are paper thin i had little to no sleep thanks to screaming babies and hearing everything on the hotel floor, the stairs are not safe to walk down they are so wonky, i asked in the survey they sent me before arrival that my room would not be cleaned for the duration of the stay and this was ignored by the cleaners every single day, who would try and force entry even if i was asleep or in the shower, they’d wake me up and only take no for an answer after insisting repeatedly which was creepy, even when i was not present at all they moved all of my belongings around the room. They confiscate your hotel key whenever you leave, but lock the door at night so if you return from a club or bar you have to stand outside and knock, eventually they come and act surprised and annoyed that you dare come back so late, as if theyre your parents or something. I was told a different check out time but then they enforced the normal checkout time so after having a very late night thinking i had more time to check out the next day, i was awoken by a rude obnoxious man who said “you must leave in the next 10 minutes” then suddenly didnt understand english when i responded, saying “WHAT?!” as if to mock the fact im english, “i dont understand your accent. WHAATTTTTT?!!!” before stressing me minutes later “you have to leave immediately get down here” and then telling me off and laughing in the lobby infront of guests when i checked out. Because of this if it wasnt for a friend’s hotel’s kindness i would have had to walk around paris with my bags for hours before my flight. How theyre reviewed so highly i have no idea. I guess it was clean and i didnt have any of my...

The location of this hotel is excellent, but that’s the only plus side!||We went with another couple and I booked two standard rooms. Ours was no 36. It overlooked an inner courtyard filled with pipe work. Although it was not particularly warm the room was stiflingly hot even with the windows thrown wide open and the fans provided did not mitigate the heat. The walls are paper thin so that you can hear everything and our friends two floors above us said they could hear us talking as well as all the noise from adjacent rooms. There was no street noise however: the hotel is located in a tucked away side street in the lovely Marais district. The room itself was tiny and dark. It was terrible value at euro 358(£296) for the night plus city tax. I did query the rate with the receptionist but all I got was a shrug and a suggestion to take it up with the management!||The bathroom was tiny and the shower flooded into the bedroom as the screen isn't sufficiently wide enough. I also do not like finding hair from previous guests in the shower… The shower tray was lethal as it is so slippery with no handrail. ||The stairs are steep and treacherous, made even more so by the plastic floor protector covering them whilst the common parts of the hotel are being renovated. It would have been courteous to have been advised of this work beforehand as I would have probably looked for a different hotel. There is a tiny lift which just about accommodates 2 people plus luggage but you need to walk up a few stairs as it stops on the half landing to each floor!||The reception and small cafe area were nicely appointed and the exterior is pretty and within a stones throw of Place des Vosges and shops bars and restaurants as well as some amazing museums. St Paul Metro line 1 is five minutes walk away. We chose not to have breakfast at the hotel but at Royal Turennes cafe just round the corner with genuine parisen cafe ambience.||I am genuinely perplexed as to why this hotel has received so many positive reviews and has been given a rating of 9/10in the Daily Telegraph Paris hotels guide. I generally find their recommendations reliable but not this time.||I have travelled widely and stayed in hotels from the most luxe to the very basic but this was truly underwhelming especially at this...
