This hotel is now called Hotel Korner Sorbonne. When it was Hotel Diana it was really good. Now I would not recommend it in any way! The breakfast is just plain terrible for Paris - the croissant was awful. It was worse than an industrial one sealed in plastic from Walmart or any supermarket in Canada. This in Paris where great pastries and croissants are everywhere. There is absolutely no charm left in this hotel at all. White walls, white duvet, etc. There were a number of ants crawling on the floor in the bathroom. The day before I was due to arrive, I also suddenly received a message that my credit card was not valid and that if i didn't get this fixed within something like 7 hours my room would be cancelled! My credit card was valid but the bank was wanting me to confirm it using a work cell phone that I didn't have with me! I contacted the hotel and tried to use another credit card. They said that it didn't work but now that I have checked my statement I see that I was billed for the first night on this card AND paid for this night again. (My mom actually paid because of the craziness of how they were going to cancel the room before I even arrived. They had had the booking for months and were only giving something like 7 hours to get everything fixed once they decided there was a problem.) I now will be contacting the hotel today due to the double payment. They are very understaffed. The person on the front desk in the daytime was friendly. The same person is doing the very poor breakfast and reception at the same time and taking people to measure rooms for drapes, etc. You can't even get out of the hotel sometimes as there is no one at reception to unlock the automatic door to let you out! This could potentially be a fire hazard. The water suddenly was off one day for the entire building without any advance warning. This was fixed when we came back 7 hours later. The rooms are fairly small even for Paris. The location is good. However, AVOID this hotel. It is very expensive for what you get and has zero charm! This is not Hotel Diana any more and not...

The pros: nice location.
The cons: so many..... Upon checking in, I signed nothing. The woman working stated that they request guests leave room keys at the front desk each time you leave the hotel. They did not state that it's mandatory. There's a bulky room key and a safe key on a key chain. I left several times the first day keeping the room key with me. The next morning, I was chased down the street by the front desk worker, demanding that I leave my room key. When I refused, he wrote me a nasty email stating that it was policy. I'd left the keychain with the safe key in my room, and upon returning to my room that afternoon, noticed it was gone. The front desk worker than knocked on my door and handed me the key chain and safe key, and scolded me for not leaving the whole set at the front desk. They admitted they'd entered my room while I was gone, without my permission and taken the keychain and safe key. I checked out an hour later, ultimately having stayed just one night. I moved for the remainder of my weekend in Paris to the nearby Hotel Belloy. Room is old, noisy, with scuffed walls. Shower is very slick, someone is going to fall. You can hear the guests next door talking, snoring, watching tv, and their dog barking. Breakfast was dismal with rancid butter, rotten eggs, and the coffee machine was broken.
Be warned, stay...
Read moreWe were very disappointed, having stayed many times at this hotel, to find it had been taken over by a chain. From the moment we arrived we felt we were in the way of some filming (presumably a marketing video for the hotel). Then my room had a leaking toilet so I needed to move - this proved quite complicated and once again, I was made to feel that I was the problem! Despite being relocated to a smaller room, I didn't get the promised refund. We saw 6 or 7 different people on reception during our stay, so there was no continuity, no recognition - just not at all welcoming. Even booking a cab on the day we left was not straight forward, with two different people not communicating. We wondered if they were now only focusing on younger clients - we for sure won't be returning -...
