Brand new Cantonese restaurant in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. For aficionado's of any type of Chinese cuisine, this new restaurant outshines all the others in the area. The menu is small compared other Asian restaurants and there was no msg in sight. In my 15 years of living in Paris, this is the best quality and most authentic Asian food I have ever eaten in Paris. It's a small restaurant even by Paris standards but the food makes you feel that you've really stepped into something very interesting. I started with a wonton soup that was 100% made fresh at my time of order. The bouillon was flavoursome and light and the wontons melted in my mouth. Tue want was definitely worth it. They were not the glutinous frozen gunge that you get in some restaurants. I followed that with glazed Iberic pork char sui with white rice..........amazing!!! The pork was so succulent and rich with taste. I didn't want it to stop, even the vegetables that came with the dish were superb. I will most definitely be going back there and will remember to post some photos as the presentation was thought out, delicate but not ostentatious. I had to protect my dish before my husband finished it all as I couldn't keep my eyes of the plate after plate of amazing dishes I saw being served to the other tables. I guarantee you that you won't be...
Read moreWhen I walked in , I saw a sign stating plate of today €15. I asked the waitress and she told me it is a chicken dish. After that she told me plate of the day is only for weekdays. Why they placed the sign in front of the door?
The service is very slow. I was the first one in and wait for 30 mins for the dim sum ( I watched the clock!) . Shrimp dumplings skin is very sticky and it fell apart. The filling is hard to tell if there is shrimp or not.
Price is on the high side and not sure if it justifies price quality ratio. The serving size is ultra small. I ordered one main and three dim sum . I am still hungry.
When I order the dumpling soup , the waitress told me it has 5 and when she served the soup, she said there is only 4 . I feel the dumpling soup lack of substance . It is not a wonton, it can be a very small home made dumpling.
The waitress gave me a free veggie when I told her the serving is very small .
I spent more than €50, not satisfied. I better go to the usual dim sum place close by and spending €25 would be enough.
I discussed with the waitress the bill and what I have ate that makes me feel hungry. She told me the restaurant is using special ingredients so the price is high
Lastly , I went to another Chinese restaurant for a soup...
Read moreThis place is absolutely fantastic. Every single dish we had was wonderful. The chef and host came and spoke to us about the menu and helped us decide on what we want. The shrimp scallop egg rolls were perfection. Freshly made and cooked. I have never had an egg roll as perfect as this. When it came out I thought “where is the dipping sauce”. It didn’t have any and didn’t need any. The freshness of the seafood blew me away. The vegetable egg rolls sound boring but we ordered 2 orders. The Shu Mai were shrimp on a broth. Beautifully cooked and presented so well. I loved that the meal was paced and we didn’t get everything all at once. The 2 main coureuses were the bbq’d pork. I’ve had this before with Chinese takeaways. This was gourmet. Crispy skin and perfectly cooked meat. The chicken and peppers was incredible too. Super crispy on the outside and soft piping hot on the inside. Pricing for very good. The beer on tap was great and I cannot say enough about this little gem. It’s. It rated on yelp and although we stayed 30 yards from this place I didn’t really see it. You won’t be disappointed. Go...
