Update, July 2019: I had another opportunity to stay here and what I wrote below (Nov 2017) really hasn't changed. This time I had a room with a view, which was lovely. The windows open, which is very nice. I was in Paris when the temperature hit record highs, about 108F/42C. The air conditioning was perfect through the heat wave.
The only small complaint I have was that the safe was too small. My ipad barely fit; an ipad pro would not fit in there. There was no room for my small camera when the ipad was in the safe, but I was able to leave my passport and some other valuables.
I strongly recommend this hotel and I would stay here again.
Original review, November 2017: I stayed here 18-27 November 2017. I can highly recommend this hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful, and everyone speaks English. Someone is on duty 24-hours a day. My room was small but well appointed and comfortable. My room had no view; I've heard that others do. The bathroom was clean and new. My room and the common areas were kept clean. The breakfast is wonderful and complete (16€). There is a comfortable common seating area in the lobby. Finally, if you want to stay around the Latin Quarter, the location speaks for itself... just look at the map. One great advantage of this hotel, one that I greatly valued, is that despite the popular location it was quiet. For the type of hotel, the location and the cost, it deserves 5 stars. I have no complaints and would definitely stay at this...
Read moreIt is hard to imagine a more perfectly located Hotel for someone wanting to explore Paris. Situated in the heart of the Latin quarter, 2 blocks from Notre Dame Cathedral, it is within easy walking distance to everything on the Ile de la Cite, as well as everything nearby on both banks of the Seine. There are dozens of restaurants within a 2-3 block walk. In addition, there are 2 metro stations, each less than a 5 minute walk. One of those metro stations is also an RER train station with direct lines to CDG airport and to Versailles, with the Eiffel Tower along the way. On the metro, you are within 2 stops from a major intersection of multiple lines and can literally get anywhere from there. The rooms are warmly furnished and are spotless. While a bit small by American standards, (remember you are in the middle of old Paris next door to a church (St. Severin) built in the 1300's), it did not feel tight and was very well-appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff was welcoming and efficient and fluent in English, but also very willing to "play along" with my attempts to speak French. Breakfasts were varied and plentiful. If you are wanting a great home base from which to explore Paris, this is a...
Read moreAfter an exhaustive search we landed on the Parc St. Severin for our week in Paris. From the second we walked in the door we were treated like royalty. The front desk staff were friendly, even when I attempted my public school French on them. The room was more than comfortable. We spent a large amount of the time we were in it out on the terrace. I recommend going up to this level if possible. It was an awesome extra to be able to sit our in the sun in the mornings. I also recommend opting for the breakfast each day. The food was amazing, and the coffee was excellent as well. The ladies in the kitchen always has a smile and a "bon jour" for you. The desk is staffed 24 hours a day, which for me is a plus. Nothing like being able to see someone when you come in regardless of the time. The location is a 10. A few minutes walk takes you to the Notre Dame, and there are a vast number of restaurant's and cafe's within that walk to get something to eat or to just sit and watch the world go by while you are in Paris. Rooms were spotless.. Bed was made every say, and the complimentary mini bar was restocked daily as needed. That was a very nice perk that I wasn't aware of until we checked in. I would not think twice about...
