We did the Prestige Dinner Cruise on the 28th of October and would not recommend this experience - or any of the dinner cruise options. As it was our anniversary, we opted for the Prestige service with window seats and an upgraded drinks package - which is quite useless as we don't drink. 1)The food is very underwhelming to say the least and even if we were to say the price is more for the experience, it was quite shocking. 2) Cruise time - it departs at the designated time so dinner service actually started while we were still docked. 3) The views are not that great. It's dark out and the most you see is the Eiffel tower at the very beginning and end of the cruise. This was for us, sitting right next to the window. Any other seats would get 0 views. 4) Photographer. There is a photographer that goes around taking photos of the guests and then comes around with the printed photos to sell them - points that there is no obligation to buy. 20 euros for 1 or if you buy 2 photo, you get the rest of the photos as well as a digital copy. When we asked if there was an option to buy digital copies only, she told us it was not possible but later when we scanned the QR code, it was an available option. Lastly, 5). The service is slow. Very slow. There is only 1 person per section to serve roughly around ~20 people so we tried to be understanding. Our server was initially very nice and we made good conversation. However, he actually ruined the entire experience for us. We asked for a drink after our entree. He came around with our mains and forgot and we asked again. When he came to take our mains away, we asked for the drink again. He said he'll be right back. He brought our dessert without the drink. We asked him if we could please have the drink (water and coke). He says sorry and walks away to be gone. During this time, we asked another waitress and she said okay and also disappeared. When the manager was walking by, we told him of the situation and asked if we could have the drink we asked for 1hour + ago. We saw him then talk to our designated waiter. 5. minutes later, our waiter comes back with 2 cokes and basically slams it on our table and walks away. Then when he comes to bring us the final petit fours, he again just dumps the plate on our table and walks away without saying anything. Continues to ignore us for the remainder of the trip and was very rude. Save your money and time and go out for a nice dinner at a brasserie and jump on a shorter river cruise either during the...
Read moreBest touristy thing to do in Paris. The first trip w our kids in the summer of 2018, as part of a packaged tour, we boarded the boat without any meals and were able to take lots of good pix as we sailed by famous landmarks. This recent trip was on our own, we booked the lunch time ride. We used taxi to take us to the dock 15 mins early, no confusion of any wrong address. Though there were a lot of tourists, our table location was already set, we were guided directly there. Lunch was good overall; at least 3 choices of each appetizer/main course & desserts. Food was tasty and well presented. Service was very good, our waitress gave us equal attention (we did not feel any prejudice just because we're Asians) and equal service as we sat w other patrons who were Parisiens, and Caucasians. We were so impressed we booked another ride for dinner time. The dinner time ride was even better because we asked for a table of 8 and they gave us the very front table (at the bow) of this boat, looking at all the landmarks as we sailed. My husband's aunt and her family were so impressed w this dinner as they have never experienced this before, even after living in Paris for over 4 decades. So thank you Bateux Parisiens for a wonderful experience...we definitely will recommend you to all...
Read moreOverall an acceptable experience.
Enjoyed the food, the wine and the sights along the river.
Question I have is, could this same experience be achieved without the cruise dinner? Obviously it can be.
If so, is the money and time spent really worth it? So if I were to have limitless time and money, I would go for it. If I were on a tight schedule or a shoestring budget, then I would suggest skip.
The cruise came with live performance. Not bad.
Our party was huge and we were arranged to sit right in the middle of the cabin. Not ideal at all as we saw little of the beautiful Paris. Suggest to sit near the window. If not, it’s totally a waste of the opportunity.
The service crew is busy and stretched and they don’t seem like they love their jobs very much. Would be much better if they care more. The worst set of service staff I have seen in Paris.
The photography service was a good idea. However, the 25 euro per photo was a definitely rip off. Ended up none in my party of 20 cares to even look at it. In fact, I think it is a definitely turn off as the cost of the cruise I understand is on the expensive side. It might be better if the service is not offered at all. Anyway who donot carry a smart phone these days? 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏼 Hope the management keeps these reality in...
