Went in as we were intrigued by the chocolates outside. No hello, no acknowledgment or response to our hellos. We brought what we wanted up to the register and the lady rudely told is to go to the other one. When there I put my card in the chip reader and she huffed at me and told me to take it out so she could get it set up. When I could put the card in, I waited for it to process after pressing the green button which she didn't see as she demanded I press the button. As I don't speak French well enough yet, it startled me and I thought she meant to take the card out. Then she practically threw a fit about it. Enough to make my partner (who does speak French by the way) step in to awkwardly tell her there's no need foe an issue? It's really alright? She was by far the rudest person we met on our trip. Maybe reading the other reviews I can know I didn't ruin her entire night with my card (as she seemed to make it be) and she hates working in a touristy...
Read moreAs a former Parisian, now living in the south of France, and huge fan of many other brands of macarons and high quality chocolate, I must say I had high expectations when we walked by this lovely shop, indicated as a MOF (Meilleur ouvrier de France - best worker of France) It is truly a pleasure for the eyes, really beautiful chocolate art. So we bought a box of macarons, some kouignettes and several chocolate things. Well, let me tell you that everything was really disappointing, really not at the level of what we can expect from a MOF. Macarons were super dry (even if I have to say, they are cheap - 1€ per macaron), they should not taste like this. And chocolate is nice but average, far from outstanding. There are so many higher quality options. I would definitely...
Read moreTerrible chocolate! I gave 2 stars because the chocolate spread (pate a tartiner) and the salted butter caramel sauce were both good and deserve 4 stars. But the chocolate was shockingly bad. As in, can't believe they are allowed to sell it in Paris bad. As in, we threw out most of the box we bought because it was so diasppointing in taste and texture and every way that chocolate is supposed to be enjoyable. I still marvel that they can exist as a chocolate shop in Paris, when the quality of their product is so low, and there are such good chocolates to be bought, (for instance, we liked Jean-Paul Hevin, A la Mere de Famille, Alain Ducasse). Strongly suggest...
