The only good thing about Le Petit Borda is its location. Great connections to the metro, quite a nice area with nice restaurants and shops nearby and only 20 mins walk from The Notre Dame. ||When we got there, the front door was all smashed up and there was a smaller entrance to the side which led to the ‘reception’. The man there seemed surprised that we had arrived and wrote our names in a book and handed us a key, nothing more for check in! He then charged €15 tourist tax for the both of us. ||The corridors are awful, filthy carpet, the lights in the stairway don’t work, which made it very dark and dingy. The side corridors on each floor weren’t in good condition, the walls were very dirty and the floors had been patched up with what looked like whatever tiles they could find. The door to our side corridor would hardly open, having to kick it down and push our whole body weight onto it each time we wanted to leave! ||When we got into the room, it was very light as we had 2 lovely big windows. The curtains were horrible, covered in bird poo and the poles were barely hanging onto the wall. The spotlights in the ceilings were hanging out of the sockets, the bedding was FILTHY - covered in hairs, dirt and yellow marks. In our 3 night stay, we only saw 2 people at reception, the man that checked us in and a teenage (?) girl that was fast asleep on the sofa in reception and didn’t want to hear anything, so we couldn’t even get a cleaner bed sheet, let alone ask for a refund!||We booked an en-suite, that stated we would get a toilet and a shower. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut and there was only a toilet with a sink (that had no plug) and the tap was covered in limescale. We asked the man where our shower was, he got a tad defensive about the fact we had asked and he led us to the top floor where there was one disgusting shower for every single room there.||The walls are paper thin and you can hear pretty much everything from outside and inside the hotel. ||Overall, don’t bother, there are way nicer hotels and hostels in Paris to stay, it’s a shame the photos we saw when we booked it weren’t quite...
Read moreTHE HOTEL OF HORRORS!! It was a disastrous, disappointing, and super uncomfortable experience.
First of all, we thought we had gone to the wrong place, because there was no proper hotel reception. The neighborhood is beautiful, like the whole city — all the businesses have great taste — and suddenly there was this “reception” full of old junk, with a person wearing flip-flops and plastic bags on their feet (??? we never understood why) who could barely say hello in English.
We left our suitcases in what was supposedly the luggage storage (a tiny kitchen full of old, dirty stuff) behind the counter. I’m attaching photos showing that “kitchen-luggage room.”
We hoped the room wouldn’t look anything like the entrance… but we had to climb up to the fourth floor with no elevator, and once there, we saw how things really were: the door was broken, the floorboards were uneven and dirty, with no skirting, the floor was slanted upwards as if the room were a ramp, and the bathroom had the shower practically in front of the door — a slightly large person wouldn’t even fit inside!
The sink was clogged, the bed had pieces that broke when you touched them, and the shower handle was broken. When we asked for an iron, they gave us one that was broken — it leaked water all over the bed and stained my dress with rust. There were no outlets in the bathroom, so it was impossible to iron or dry your hair in front of a mirror.
At night, we saw a man sleeping on the sofa at reception (apparently the night guard/receptionist). To top off our “wonderful” guest experience, none of the staff even said hello or showed the slightest concern for guests’ comfort. One tourist started to complain, and the night worker began yelling and speaking rudely to him.
This unforgettable experience cost us €120 per...
Read moreStayed in this hotel for 3 days with my best friend and we really enjoyed ourselves! I will say that the photos are clearly edited and don’t look like that in real life so beware however considering the price range, location and the reviews, we weren’t expecting luxury. I think the place is still pretty nice and is a perfect spot if you’re just looking for somewhere to sleep and explore and walk around beautiful Paris during the day with a budget. Location is absolutely fab, we were able to walk everywhere, shops and restaurants are nearby with the metro being a few mins away. Service was nice and helpful, we checked out a few hours late as we slept in by mistake but weren’t screaming at us to get out which was very much appreciated 🫶 The hotel room was clean and had everything we needed towels, pillows, beddings, a table and chair, a bin, two sockets, toilet paper, storage shelves, soaps and a gorgeous balcony like window that I fell in love with! Super great for cool photos. The room and corridors did lack design and an aesthetic touch to it but blankets were super soft and comfy. It did not come with hair products and a closet so we just laid our things on the shelves, on the table and chair or back in our suitcases so storage was not a problem for us. Thankfully, we didn’t have to share a bathroom with the others so we were relieved. Considering the price and location I really can’t recommend this...
