in all my years of dining out, i’ve never had a server just outright refuse to tell me their name .. but that’s exactly what our waitress did when i politely asked her for her name before she took our order. i mean, she literally just said, “I don’t give out my name”! a server. bluntly refusing to give her name!! hilarious! i must say, ‘girl who refused to give her name’ was pretty unbelievably rude - even by french standards! i was so flabbergasted that i could barely focus on what i wanted to try to order because all i could think was how badly i wanted to get up and leave! however, i didn’t want to embarrass my date. maybe this girl was having a bad day. maybe she doesn’t care for americans. maybe she doesn’t like her job. maybe she knows her gratuity is already built into the check and doesn’t care about what good service means. maybe she’s a covert operative for the FBI.

I then stared at the spigot waiting for a droplet of water to fall. It never did. It felt like the ending to Inception. I'd visit again, but in the evening when both my and the cafe's energy are less strange. Looking back, maybe the wormwood content was...

We had a wonderful dining and drinking experience and can’t wait to come back when we make our way...
