My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Berlin from Monday 27th November to Saturday 2nd December. Firstly, there were no issues with check-in, the gentleman who booked us in was really pleasant, I let my wife do this as she wanted to practice her German language skills, when she got a bit confused the gentleman spoke in English and said " it's OK I speak English" to the relief of my wife and both had a chuckle, Brilliant Service. The gentleman who cleaned our room was really good, he would always say if we needed anything to let him know, our thanks go out to him as well. The bar staff were very good and pleasant to deal with. Thank you to them. The gentleman on the concierge desk was really good, thank you to him. We left our bag in the holding room as we checked out at 11am and weren't getting picked untill 3pm, the older gentleman was funny and really good, thank you to them. The room itself was large enough for us, there was a wardrobe unit on the left as you enter the first door contains 2 shelves and the safe, I had to use bluetac to keep the safe door shut, we didn't set a lock on it as we didn't use it, there's a hairdryer in there as well. The second door contains the iron and ironing board, then there is the minibar, it is stocked but be careful as whatever u take out is automatically charged to the room. There a kettle with the normal tea's and coffee's but for staying for almost a week then 2 milk cartons aren't enough, I would suggest that there should be at least 12 milk cartons which does 6 cups and 12 coffee sachets. We went to Lidl's to get a jar of coffee and a bottle of milk. The room could do with a chest of drawers. The bed and pillows were comfy and clean. The TV remote control didn't work that great but but that wasn't really an issue, if it had been I would have asked for some new batteries. The shower room was small but it did the job, we had a walk in shower, no issues here, the door is narrow so if ur a large person or use walking sticks this might be an issue. Now the downside. There is no heating in the room, the radiator is under the window which doesn't work, I turned the heating dial on the radiator but there was no heat at all. No radiator should be placed under a window anyway and even if it did work once u draw the curtains all the radiator would do is heat the window, that needs to be moved to wall next to the bed so when it does work it then heats the room, when we first arrived i had to sleep in the robe and thermal socks cause the room was cold, there are other comments about the radiators so it looks as if there not taking the heating issue seriously and berlin got down as low as -7 overnight, im not saying that the hotel room being cool directly resulted in me getting the cold but it certainly wouldn't have helped. The bar prices are steep but this is where money is made however 28 euros for a large wine and 0.5L of beer is really steep, but if you dont want to spend it then don't drink it. Breakfast is a normal buffet breakfast, it's a free for all and not table service, lots of choices but the only criticism is that the eggs are bit yuk, the scrambled eggs seem as if there not cooked enough, the fried eggs still had the clear white egg on top, it's not hard to cook eggs, the bacon is cooked to a crisp, why??? And some of the coffee machines only give u half a cup of coffee. Overall, breakfast service could do better. There's a little shop near the lifts, not seen that before but a brilliant idea, it's self service. The hotel is 10mins from lidl 2 mins from the Stadtmitte underground taking you directly to Charlottenburg and Alexanderplaz without changing. 20 mins to brandenberg gate and the reichstag building. 10mins to checkpoint Charlie. Overall its a good hotel with good staff running a large hotel within a challenging environment. We will come back to Berlin and more than likely stay at the hilton again but not in the winter due to the...
Read moreHi! I’m a flight attendant who loves visiting Berlin—not just for the vibrant city atmosphere, but also for the welcoming comfort of the Hilton Berlin. The location is perfect, with main attractions, shopping, and restaurants either nearby or a short walk away, plus it’s right across from a metro station. The area has all my favorite brands and some new ones I’m glad to have discovered, along with markets, galleries, museums, and more.
Every time we walk into the hotel, the front desk and concierge are cheerful, attentive, and have everything ready for our group. They answer calls promptly, even when the hotel is nearly full. There are friendly invitations around the hotel for the gym, pool, spa, and restaurants, which gives it a really welcoming touch.
I’ve stayed here multiple times, and every room I’ve had has been spacious, with a comfortable bed, flawless bedding, large bathroom, plenty of mirrors, a desk with great lighting, and comfortable seating. The rooms are well-equipped with universal outlets (no U.S. outlet, but others are available) and complementary WiFi, with an option for high-speed access. Although I’d love a coffee machine, the hot water kettle and instant coffee are good enough. The minibar is fully stocked with a small space for personal items. The shower offers both hot and very cold water, which is a great perk!
Breakfast is always a treat; I dont know where to start, BEST OMELETS in all the hotels I have been ! these chefs really nail it! They have fresh ingredients (everything you could add to your eggs!) and they fry the add ons first and after they add them to your omelet, not oily, not raw, not overcooked...just perfect. And after uuufff you find fruits, vegetables, grains, salads, cheeses, fresh juices, coffee, teas, Ohhhh the breads...the breads they make... sweets, cereals, everything for everyone! Did I mention the mimosas, sparkling wine and the bloody Marrys??? I’m always impressed by how well-stocked, clean, and organized everything is, with staff replenishing items constantly and making it all look effortless.
My favorite part of the hotel is the gym, spa, and pool area, which I can’t wait to show off to my family. The gym has all the equipment I need, including Peloton bikes, weights, mats, and multi-functional machines. The spa offers saunas, a solarium, and even a tropical rain shower! The staff is always around to assist and make sure everything’s perfect.
The whole experience here makes it tempting to stay in the hotel all day. With so many groups and guests enjoying their time and plenty of amenities to discover—like the Hilton Honors Lounge and first-floor cocktails—it’s clear the Hilton Berlin keeps up with its high standards. I’ll definitely be back for work, and I’m even planning to bring my family soon.
Thank you to the entire team for making this my home away from...
Read moreIt’s easy to find this hotel. We walked from the train station to the hotel with no issues. The location is excellent as the hotel is walking distance from most of the tourist destinations. It is also next to the subway, so that makes it convenient to visit the destinations that aren’t quite walking distance.
Checking in was simple. However, we waited a couple of minutes as there was no one at the front desk when we arrived. We were given a room upgrade which we appreciated very much.
The room was very big and we were able to open the windows for fresh air. We were provided two bottles of water for free. The mini fridge was one of those ones with the sensor for detecting if you remove drinks from within and charge you accordingly at checkout. As such, we didn’t use the mini fridge to store milk or yogurt. We just bought enough and consumed it the same day.
Housekeeping kept our towels and sheets clean so no complaints there.
We had access to the Executive Lounge. It is spacious and comfortable here. On our second day, when we entered, the attendant asked if our daughter is noisy or something of that nature. Apparently, another guest complained that the children in the lounge were loud. Not a problem for us as our daughter is quiet, but we found it a weird thing to complain about.
There is a separate key card for the Executive Lounge. I’m guessing the difference is one can tap and the room keycards are swiped. We had an issue with the room keycards, but I think it’s because I swiped too fast. These keycards need to be swiped slowly for the reader to work.
We had the option to have breakfast in the Executive Lounge or the main dining area. I feel it is better to have the breakfast in the main dining area as there are more food options there.
If possible, find yourself a window seat. Aside from the construction across the street, you also get a view of the Deutscher Dom. On our last day here, we managed to grab a table in the panoramic seating area.
They have an omelette station here with someone cooking your eggs to order. One morning someone was complaining to the chef to not undercook their eggs as he didn’t want to get sick. He turned to the rest of us in the queue looking for validation for what he was saying, but we all turned our heads and ignored him. Frankly, it was hilarious we did it in unison like it was scripted television. It was probably the same person who complained that kids make too much noise in the Executive Lounge.
Checking out was also simple. We queued up for a bit and then was on our way to the train station in a matter of minutes.
Overall, if we come to Berlin again, I wouldn’t hesitate to book Hilton...
