This is my first trip to Berlin, so I was looking for a fantastic hotel that was accessible to all the sights. My decision was the Hotel de Rome since it was peaceful and away from the throngs of tourists, yet it was still accessible to all the important sites. My room wasn't ready when I checked in because I came before ten in the morning. Nonetheless, Mr Martin Buschmann was gracious enough to give me a tour of the hotel and familiarise me with the bar, restaurant, and other crucial details. He offered me a glass of champagne as a welcome. Before the 3 PM check-in time, Mr. Jacob Montemitoli performed his magic and relocated my reservation to a different room, allowing me to enter my room and take a short nap. I had the pleasure of having Mr. Domenico Bozzolo bring my bags to my room and show me around. He also gave a history of the hotel's numerous notable guests. Throughout my three days there, the breakfast was delicious and I never ran out of things to do. A special thank you to Mr. Giovani and Miss Yuniar Utami, who not only looked after me well but also answered my questions about the neighbourhood while I was enjoying my coffee. With the assistance of Martha and Smrithi, who helped me with my ride back to the airport, my checkout went smoothly. During my vacation, I travelled alone, but the next time I visit Berlin, my family will accompany me. All in all, I had a wonderful vacation and an amazing experience at this hotel.

Staying at Hotel de Rome was an unforgettable experience! Right from the start, being welcomed with a glass of champagne at reception set the tone for a luxurious and relaxing stay. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of Berlin, surrounded by iconic landmarks and incredible history, everything is just a short walk away. The attention to detail in the rooms really stood out: elegant design, super comfortable beds, and those little touches that make all the difference. The service was top-notch, with a team that was always warm, professional, and ready to help. We had a special event organized by them as well, and not only it was perfectly made, but also you could see how employees were truly envolved and happy to see us happy ;) Don’t forget to visit the spa if you are there. Besides being a relaxation haven, it holds some cool historic gema from Berlin. And the brunch? Absolutely grand! A stunning selection of high-quality items, beautifully presented, with plenty of variety to please everyone. It felt more like an experience than just a meal, and the relaxed atmosphere made it even better. The spa and wellness area was the perfect escape after exploring the city—a quiet, luxurious space to recharge. Hotel de Rome is all about making you feel special, and they do it effortlessly. I’ll definitely be coming back—it’s now one of my favorite places to stay in Berlin!

I was at Bebel Square with my daughter and another friend.|I wanted to use the restroom, but couldn't find anything except the Hotel in front of me : De Rome , so I asked the doorman, and he told me I could use the restaurant's restroom.|Unfortunately, the restroom was out of service due to some work, so one of the ladies at the reception suggested to use another restroom at the end of the hall.|I walked to the end of it and found no restrooms or signs so I was about to go back to the reception when a charming young man with silver hair resembling Richard Gere came out of one of the doors, greeted me with a friendly smile, and said something in German that, unfortunately, I didn't understand. However, he understood that I didn't speak German and asked me in English if I needed anything or if he can help.|I said "Bathroom please," so he walked me to the bathroom door, opened it for me, and wished me a nice day, always with a charming smile.|As I left the bathroom, I saw the same person closing one of the doors opposite the restroom. Through , I saw a large Room with a hanging chandelier and Since I'm an architect, my interest was piqued.|I said, "Wow, great. Is this a Party Room ?" He replied, "It's a multi-purpose ballroom and conference hall." Then he opened the door again and said very invitingly, "Come in please, I walked in and, oh my Gosh , I was just losing my mind. It was so Majestic . I thanked him for his kindness. Then I said to myself, but out loud, "Unfortunately, my daughter and my friend were waiting for me outside; they would have love to see this Ballroom as well."|He asked me if I was a guest at the hotel. I said no and explained the situation to him. My daughter and my friend were waiting outside the hotel. He said, "I'll wait. You can bring the others. I'll be happy to show you the room"|I asked, "Are you sure?" It was obvious you were just about to leave and finish your workday. He replied with a sweet laugh, I don’t think ten minutes will ruin my day.|I quickly went and brought the ladies with me and found the nice young man waiting for us at the end of the hallway leading to the restroom.|He welcomed us again and led us into the grand hall, turned on the lights and began explaining the history and characteristics of the place.|He also offered us a glass of water (very generous of him). My daughter is also studying architecture and found it an opportunity to ask many questions and each time he answered in a beautiful and charming way. After that, he told us that in the hotel we have the most beautiful rooftop in Berlin and one of the most beautiful in the world and he will be pleased to show it to us ( what a great salesman).|So We went upstairs and oh my gosh what a great view with the church and the big Tower a breathtaking view.|I thanked him again and told him that we would now let him go home. He thanked us too and walked us to the exit, wishing us a happy holiday.|What I want to say is that five-star hotels are generally no different from each other,|But what makes the difference are the people who work in these hotels. I have been lucky to have traveled to many places in the world and most of my stays were in hotels classified as this time in Adlon. I don't know when I will return to Berlin, but when I do, I will definitely book at the Rome Hotel. Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the person who gave us this wonderful human experience, which I will never forget, but as I said before, he is a charming young man with a nice gray hair who wears glasses and has very good English with a mix of American and British accent.|Great Hotel such a beautiful city...

Hotel de Rome terrible stay , avoid

CHECKIN — welcome drink during check in, however the gentleman checking us in didn’t want to open another bottle for my husband, so he just handed me 1 glass. Half way to the elevator, my husband feeling left out literally had to ask for a cup of his own.

No breakfast to my room which was included with the amex booking. I had to go down to the buffet.

POOL CLOSED WITHOUT NOTICE AT BOOKING- pool was closed and has been closed for years apparently I want to mention that with prior bookings (as I book often with amex there is ALWAYS A WARNING , which CONFIRMS to clients any restaurants, facilities or pool closures. information was intentionally hid from clients.

TERRIBLE ROOM VIEW the view faced another wall in the inner court yard (amex upgraded room) dark depressing no natural sunlight view of office buildings. furnishings are old and run down

SPA - The lady with brown short hair me feel unwelcome and kept pressing me to explain if I was staying at the hotel or why I was there. We decided to leave because she was so rude and I even asked her to see the facilities of the steam room ect and she refused.

CONSTANT INTERROGATION For the first 2 days it consisted of constant interrogation from staff “Are you looking for the roof terrace?” “Are you lost?” Or other sneaky ways to see if we were guests. making us feel unwelcome

I had forgotten my umbrella I asked another door man (an Indian or Pakistani door man I believe) if I could have an umbrella, He told me “ you can go get it yourself ” and pointed inside .

ROOF TOP RESERVATION I approached the reception and I was rudely ignored and told to “ go over there with a lady who’s in separate room and talk to her about booking the terrace” The reception seemed to cast me aside because they assumed I wasn’t staying at their hotel. But once my husband explained to her firmly our room number ....and magically there was a table for us for reservation.

hotel de Rome is no place for a lady Day 3 we decided to cancel our plans to visit a museum and take the day to use the spa. The spa is full of old men without bathing suits fully on display their private parts. No one warned me, there was no sign on the door, no communication of a co ed fully naked spa

This is an international hotel When I told the spa troll that I was very upset at the males lack of bathing suit, she told me that it was “just too bad and if I don’t like it we can leave” She could see very clearly I was very shaken at the full display in front of me when I opened the door. So no spa for me. no museum for me. wasted my last day in Berlin

I know for a fact our mistreatment is very specific to hotel de Rome. lunch at Aldon Kempinski and 3 night stay at hotel de luc was completely different. I want to mention my husband and I despite being younger we are very well dressed , husband was wearing beautiful Hugo boss, eden park ect. we were discriminated because of our age.

Positive points- the house keeping staff is amazing 1 gentleman in the spa was helpful (from cypress) Sadly by the time I talked to him it was too late in our trip to book my spa appointment and impossible away from naked creeps Also the bell man (shaven head German guy) and 1 other door man with black curly hair were polite.

there are so many other 5 star hotels in berlin . do...
