Hampton by Hilton has always been my go-to hotel brand wherever I travel. I appreciate the consistent value they offer, clean, practical rooms at a fair price. While some locations may not be fully equipped (for example, lacking a fridge), it’s usually acceptable given the overall experience. Unfortunately, this particular stay was disappointing in several ways.
Room
The room was clean and tidy as expected. However, it was booked for three guests, yet only four pillows were provided and all of them were extremely flat almost like sheets. When we asked for more pillows, we were told the hotel was fully booked and no extras were available. This left us wondering: are rooms supplied with only a fixed number of pillows regardless of the number of guests? If so, it raises the question of why we are charged for a third guest without receiving a full set of amenities.
Amenities
The sofa bed provided for the third guest was of extremely poor quality. It felt like there was nothing but a thin sheet between the guest and the metal frame or mattress core. As a result, all three of us ended up sharing the same bed and none of us got a good night’s sleep.
Facilities
There was no fridge in the room which I would normally accept. However, when we asked for ice and a bucket to chill a bottle of wine we had brought, we were met with resistance. Although the front desk staff initially tried to assist us, a female staff member intervened, spoke with her colleague and then gave us a distinctly unpleasant and judgmental look. This interaction left us feeling quite uncomfortable and unwelcome and we’re still unsure what we did to warrant such treatment.
Customer Service
The check-in staff member was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, this was overshadowed by the uncomfortable interaction with another staff member whose attitude felt unnecessary and unprofessional. A simple request for ice should not result in guests feeling judged or unwelcome.
Overall
While the room met basic cleanliness standards and the price point was reasonable, the lack of basic amenities for a third guest, the poor quality of the sofa bed and the uncomfortable customer service experience significantly impacted our stay. I hope management takes this feedback into consideration to improve future guest experiences especially for those traveling as a...
Read moreGuys please don’t stay at this hotel, other than the location being good and very close to the main train station, the staff really need more training! Especially the hotel manager Annamaria Lehne!
Got the hotel late last night, as here for couple of nights, got given the room however the AC was not working properly, complained, and nothing came out of it! Was very tired so went to sleep, as had work to do next morning, after a trouble sleep because the room was baking, I got up and went in the shower, which caused the whole room to flood!
I was calm about it and complained to hotel manager before I left in the morning, whom said she would sort it, come back at 3pm to find the flood is still there and room has not even been turned down!! Please see the pics attached. Told Annamaria and she acted like it was normal, I mean even in 1 star hotels if the room is flooded they would get someone to sort it right away! She was not even apologetic, and just said I’ll change your room, very cold behaviour! Many other hotels in this city, please stay elsewhere!!!
Update: I was moved to Room 711 where the manager Annamaria assured me the room was perfect, I walk inside the room and it’s not been made, the sheets are dirty from the night before bins are full and bathroom is dirty, please see the pictures attached!!!!! What a joke of a manager and a hotel!!!!!!!!!!
Update: 11 months have now passed, and i was told by the Manager that she would refund 1 night stay, however this was not actioned. To be honest i am not surprised at all!!! There is a premier inn literally next door to the hotel, please stay there, its a fraction of the price, and i am sure the service will be better...
Read moreIt's a very well located hotel within 3 minute walking distance of the central station. The rooms are fine, standard Hampton room, with all the amenities (TV, iron, dryer, electric kettle, but no minibar, no slippers or bathrobes). The rooms are clean. The receptionist staff are OK, a bit bad at their English (and sometimes even German). The staff in the breakfast area are extremely nice and hard working. The breakfast is average with the juices (like orange juice) all water with artificial flavors.
The cleaning staff were bad though. We had a cat and were charged 20 Euros extra for that. We had all the supplies ourselves (food and water bowls, litter box and cat litter sand, etc.) and all we asked for was for our room NOT to be cleaned lest the cat get scared and we were only staying for 2 nights. We hung the "do not disturb" sign on the knob outside but when we came back we noticed that it had been ignored (with the sign put on the inside), room half-cleaned and the cat scared to death. Luckily he hadn't had the chance to run out otherwise it would've probably been impossible to find him again. The signs clearly had "do not disturb" both in English and German on them. My guess is that the two young guys doing the cleaning either could not read either language or were curious to take a peek in a room with a "do not disturb" sign as their cleaning work was kind of half done (glasses and cups not cleaned, paper tissues not filled etc).
They have also raised the price of parking from 20 Euros to 25 Euros per night.
We picked this place mostly for location convenience otherwise you can probably find better...
