I don't usually write reviews on TripAdvisor unless something is very good or very bad. I stayed for 3 miserable nights in June which can be summarized by "Such a bad experience, Never Again!"|I asked in advance if the hotel had air conditioning. I was told it did, and that it was "sustainable" and "state of the art" which sounded good to me. |Due to my asthma and allergies, I've been advised by my doctor to sleep with the windows closed. I'm onboard with using sustainable methods to cool buildings so I was happy to try this hotel. |The website boasts of having "top-tier technology". Please note this was NOT a heat wave, just warm June temperatures averaging about 83 Fahrenheit or 28 Celsius. NOT a heat wave!|My room was so miserable and hot the first night that I went in person to the front desk to ask if something could be done to make it cooler as I was unable to sleep. The reply: "open the window!" Yes, the sophisticated sustainable cooling system that this hotel uses is the same one people used in the 18th century, i.e. open a window and hope for a breeze.|The next day I asked again if they had fans or some way to cool the room. The hotel suggested I switch rooms to a cooler location in the building. So I did and discovered that the difference was minimal. The second room was still too hot to sleep in, and I once again opened a window and hoped for a breeze.|I understand that some people don't want air conditioning or feel it is ruining the planet. In my own home I use the most energy efficient air conditioning available. My complaint is the lack of transparency on the part of Me and All Hotels. They should be honest with guests. They are part of the Hyatt chain and should have the integrity to admit they have no real air conditioning other than opening a window and hoping for a breeze. Claims about using a "sustainable" cooling system (which is no system at all) set the cause of coping with climate change back because it reinforces the belief among some people that anything claiming to be sustainable will not work. Calling something "eco-certified" should not mean it's a miserable place to stay!|My stay was hot, miserable, and never again. ...

If you love Japanese style boutique hotels that come with a blend of quirky decor and uniquely Asian chic vibes then you would love this place. All the common areas ooze a a very interesting boho-chic charm and character - decorated using japanese antique pieces and fittings. However the biggest weakpoint of this place (pretty common in most japanese style accommodations) is the spartan setting of the rooms and lack of space. The room was quite compact and pretty much lacked even the most basic amenities - like a Water heating flask or even a simple closet for storage. IF you are ok to manage with that then this is a great option at a great location
LOCATION: Located in Stadt Mitte - a quick walk away from teh train station and all key points of interest in old town.
DINE + DRINK: The 11th floor Lounge is pretty cool and the lobby level cafe is a great place for a wicked coffee in the morning.
ROOM: We stayed in Room 510, so this review is based on that; SIZE: Super compact and barely enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: ; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM: Compact Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: good spa quality toiletries.
FACILITIES: Compact Gym with a basic range of weights and Cardio machines that is good enough for a decent workout. But the fact that is located in the second level basement might make you feel very claustrophobic!
SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel at home and well taken care of. Special Shout-out to LYDIA from the front desk for enhancing our stay.
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good! Big Smart TV dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment in...
Read moreThe biggest problem with this hotel is that the rooms are NOT air conditioned. They have "cold water circulation" in the ceilings, but that does not provide any meaningful cooling to the room. The temperature wasn't even that high (no more than 25C, 77F during the day), but the rooms stayed extremely warm until well passed midnight. While the windows do open, the hotel is on the intersection of two very busy streets, so cooling the room that way has it's own problems. Furthermore, the curtains on the windows do not provide much in the way of light reduction (the attached photo was taken just before sunrise and there is no additional curtain to draw), so the only way to make the room dark is to close a large sliding door, which cuts off the bed area from the outside cool air. With the weather this week expected to get up to 31C (88F), I expect these rooms will become more like ovens than hotel rooms.
That is not the only issue: The wifi wasn't very good ( a VPN improved streaming quality, which suggests their trying to do some clumsy throttling at the hotel level). The shower had no conditioner and only combination shampoo/body wash, which is not good enough in a 4* hotel, in my opinion There is no fridge in the room, so there is no way to chill water or food. There is also no ice machine as far as I could tell (so don't expect to keep cool with ice water or a frozen snack).
On the positive side: The staff were very friendly The upstairs bar area is quite nice and the coffee at the downstairs caffe was good The rooms were clean and well maintained The location is quite good, near Little Tokyo and only a 15 min walk to the Altstadt
Dusseldorf is a tricky hotel market, but I would definitely not return...
