If I can give this room a negative rating I would. We acquired the room with the pool, the front desk clerk was very nice and escorted us to our room. It was our last day in Greece and wanted to relax and enjoy the pool . Once we arrived at the room, we found the conditions of the pool to be very deceptive and unkept. Dead plants , no privacy but Needless to say, we were very tired and wanted to get inside the pool. Once we got inside the pool, the button that sends the Jets, sent us an electric volt Throughout our bodies. We immediately got outside the pool still scared by that volt since we were wet therefore triggered a higher velocity. Given the severity of the shock received, we went ahead and googled to try to understand what was happening and realize that it actually was a very potentially dangerous and serious problem. This is where we decided to go to management and explain the situation because there was no use using that pool after having come to the realization that it was dangerous. We went to the front desk and spoke to another front desk clerk whom was very nice and explained the whole situation. He was very understanding and said he would speak w management to see what can be done. We waited a little and he said they couldn’t put us in another room since it was sold out , and that they can only lower $100 from the bill. Mind you , the room costs $360 and the lower grade rooms cost $241 . But the inconvenience of the whole thing and us not being able to use the pool which is why we chose this hotel and the waiting time should at least merit a 50% off at the very least. This could have been much worse for someone w a heart condition or a child, and once we said we were not satisfied he simply said that’s all we can do . Most hotels would’ve comped the room entirely and I wasn’t asking for that , but a mere $100 , is not satisfactory. Very angered I had to end my...
Read moreOur stay at the Nikiou Suites was interesting and not what we had expected. We have mixed feelings on it and would not book here again. ||First off, the location is perfect, easy walk to every major attraction. Our room was a very good size, with good AC (important in summer) and a great shower (Pool view Room). Very modern decor, full electronic lighting system and we were able room to plug in all major devices. ||We found the bed to be very firm and uncomfortable. We didn’t like that there really were no exterior windows, although it did have an interior courtyard patio with a cold pool/jacuzzi tub where the pigeons enjoyed swimming. We didn’t realize when booking (our fault) that this is not a full service hotel (no services at all, no breakfast…etc). It’s more of an apartment situation. Front desk gives you a key and you are on your own. We found the front desk to be extremely non-responsive to emails regarding transportation to/from the airport and any other questions. Often taking more than 24 hours to respond. ||So if you don’t care about having service amenities, it may be a good choice for you. If you want a full service hotel, you should keep looking. ...
Read moreWe originally chose Athens Dom: Nikiou Suites because we needed to move locations for our last evening in Athens ... and it was literally just around the corner from our previous accommodations. We decided to check it out [the day before we had to move] before we booked the room. We met Valerie ... who was very helpful and friendly. She was the reason we booked the room on the spot.||The following day, we moved our luggage to the hotel [expecting to just store our luggage in the office] ... and to our surprise, Valerie informed us that our room was ready & available. Valerie gave us a fabulous recommendation for lunch ... and suggested we go to Balthazar for dinner. She secured the reservation ... and let me tell you, it was possibly the best meal we had in Athens. She also organized a taxi to pick us up in front of the hotel the following morning ... early.||The room was typical European-sized room [small]. It was decorated in a very classic style and was spotless. She also informed us that this building used to be the Prime Minister's home in 1975 [?] ... which we thought was...
