We are very very very pleased!
About us - We stayed for 5 days in two rooms for two couples. A total of 4 people.
Choosing the hotel - This is already a return visit to Athens for one of the couples and although we were satisfied with the hotel we stayed in on the first visit we decided to come to Pure hotel and it was an excellent decision.
Arrival at the hotel and reception - The staff that received us was very nice, helpful and kind and was available 24/7 for our requests. We were a few hours early, we didn't expect to get rooms so early but the staff made sure to speed up getting one room so we could freshen up after the trip to Greece. Every time we passed through the lobby, they made sure to ask how we were, inquire about our tours in Athens, recommend places to hang out and make sure everything was excellent during our stay at the hotel.
The rooms - We took two rooms, one classic room and the second standard room. Both are very neat, clean and comfortable, especially the large and luxurious shower! The difference between the rooms is in the size where the classic is more spacious than the standard.
Cleaning and room service - They made sure to clean and arrange our rooms every day, including changing the sheets during the stay and changing the towels every day. Even when we asked for more towels for a visit to the sea or more water at a late hour, we received them in a moment.
Breakfast - A basic but wonderful meal. The constant presence of staff members who take care of food and cleanliness during all hours of operation of the dining room is evident.
Rooftop Bar - Brand new. They invested in new and luxurious equipment that continued to arrive even during our stay at the hotel. On the one hand, the view is less amazing than similar places of entertainment that overlook the Acropolis, but on the other hand, you can enjoy a bar that is very accessible to the hotel guests (we also had 20% discount as guests), and especially from Dimitri, who runs the bar. Dimi made sure to invest in every detail that even a cup of tea ordered late in the evening became an attraction where he offered us to taste fresh ginger syrup that he made himself to combine with the cup of tea. We really enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar, the professionalism and service of Dimi and the attention to the little details.
Owner of the hotel - It is strange to have to detail this in the review but the owner of the hotel, Mr. Amir, was present every day at the hotel, and every time we saw him he checked the quality of the service and experience for the guests or guided new employees or was interested with the guests about their stay at the hotel. We have never encountered such a caring professional, especially by the owner of the hotel by himself. We are sure that the excellent experience we had from our vacation at this hotel was greatly influenced by Amir's concern for every detail and of course for the entire wonderful crew.
In conclusion - highly, highly, highly recommended! Location/staff/atmosphere/price everything was excellent! We will definitely come back again and will also...
Read moreIt is a new hotel opened in June as I heard. It is advertised as 4* what is important for this summary. In our opinion it should be rated 3*. Of course with an adequate, lower price.
The biggest problem is lack of staff.
It is mostly seen in a kichen where was 1 women only. Btw - not speaking English. Effect - dirty tables, chaos in a point for pressing fresh orange juice (see picture), lack of food on empty plates (see picture), even no spoons. Breakfast offer is also very basic and boring after 2 days. This is not a negative opinion about woman in a kitchen. But description what lacks of personel makes.
Same is in a reception. 1 person there is tryjng to help in many other places of hotel. They try to help but in many cases as an effect - there is noone there. And crowd of queues of guest waiting for check-in or out is a frequent view.
Rooms are clean (what is a strong point) but quite small with some minor disadvantages. Like very light aircondition dosturbin in a night or a bit to short blanket on a bed. Still you can see some equipment was mounted in a rush and not quite well. Not all rooms have even basic badges like 'please clean the room' or 'do not disturb'.
There is a problem with closing the outer door of the lift. Sometimes it is blocked on one floor because door spring is not closing them fully.
What surprised us - we saw water on cleaners trolleys but we got no single one to our room durring our stay in the hotel. Why? We cannot understand in accept lack of tea service in rooms or even cups or glasses - in 4* hotel.
Narrow coridors are half of the day occupied by cleaning machines and trolleys. Not comfortable to go.
4* hotel should provide qlso some basic services. Like loundry. Nothing like this is there. Receptiin helped us to find one commercial in a city.
Finally - roof bar looks just bad. No view. Old, dirty walls around. It is not a place to spend a time in the evening.
As said above. Pure hotel should be rated and priced for 3*. It offers just a small clean bed and basic breakfast....
Read moreWe stayed two nights in this boutique-style hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated and it’s located on a quiet street just steps from some bars and restaurants.
We were perhaps unlucky and given a bad room. It was on the ground floor just steps from the entrance to reception and directly across the stairs which lead to the open breakfast area. We heard plates, glasses, and chairs scraping the tile floors for much of the day, including early mornings. We had immediately asked to be relocated after seeing where the room was and before even unpacking, but they told us we’d have to pay an additional 180 euro for an upgrade.
The toilet in the room didn’t work/flush when we arrived (another reason they should have just relocated us). Quite annoying because we had come directly from the airport and off a long flight. We left for the afternoon and they fixed it by the time we returned. But there were no apologies or comps of any kind (how about a cheap bottle of wine for the inconvenience)?
The various staff members were ok, not exactly super friendly or welcoming, but not rude either. they often lock the front door and you are required to enter a code to get in. The staff would sit at a desk just a few feet away and couldn’t be bothered to get up and open the door while we fumbled with the keypad outside.
The breakfast spread was fine. Mostly cold stuff and breads. A couple chafers with eggs done a few different ways. Seems like there was just one person responsible for refilling everything, cleaning the tables, and fixing the coffee machine.
We were looking forward to visiting the rooftop bar but it was closed on a saturday evening (bartender was sick). Sounds like a regular occurrence from the reviews. Fine, we spent our time and money at a different rooftop across the street.
So the stay was Ok, not great. Staff could probably use some lessons in hospitality. It was only two nights and we were out and about most of the time, but I’d book somewhere else if I...
