This place came up in quite a lot of the guides we saw online about traditional greek food, so we decided to try it.
Once we got there, we could see most of the tables were already occupied and staff were running around with food and cutlery.
We had to wait 5 minutes for a table inside to be one available. The table had been recently vacated and due to the restaurant being very busy, the staff were cleaning the table as we were putting our coats on the chairs.
Once seated, we were brough a bottle of water and 2 glasses which were lukewarm, assuming they'd just been washed.
We proceeded to place our order: grilled bread, grilled halloumi, tzatziki sauce, Greek salad, chicken skewers with fries, moussaka and a small bottle of Coke.
As we were waiting, we could see the organised chaos in the restaurant: waiters carrying 8-10 plates with leftovers or bottles of water and empty glasses to make sure they keep on top of everything.
Our food arrived within 15 minutes: the first to come were the Greek salad, the grilled bread, tzatziki and the grilled halloumi. We managed to take a bite out of the bread and spread some tzatziki on it when the rest of the dishes came - moussaka and the chicken skewers. We had to move some plates around to make sure the waiting stuff did not knock anything over.
The grilled bread was nice and crunchy. The tzatziki was quite garlicky, which we liked. My partner enjoyed the moussaka. My chicken skewers were well made and aromatic. The only slight downside were the fries - they were lukewarm, probably made in a big batch earlier and kept slightly warm to be served.
All in all we're glad we could eat here. The venue was very busy probably because most other restaurants are closed on Sunday, so more people would...
Read moreThis is a simple Restaurant. When it is warm you can sit outside next to the street. Inside the Restaurant is divided into ground floor and second floor where we were sitting. The Service was fast. On the table we got one bottle of water. One smell was enough to detect that was coming out of the pipe although it wasn't easy to detect because on the bottle was written the name of a brand... Then our table received a brown table paper to Cover it. We ordered Tzatziki (5 €) of poor taste and almost only consisting of garlic. The non alcoholic Beer was served in a 0,5 l bottle. For the Tzatziki we have ordered PITA BREAD but without any comment we got a big normal bread. The Lamb (12 €) baked in the oven was of fair taste. The presentation and preparation reminded me at being in a canteen. The potatoes were sweating and looking like being prepared several days before. The colour of it was between grey and a whiter shade of pale. The Greek Salad (9,50 €) was of prepared average. The bill is only written in GREEK LETTERS. Nobody has removed the dishes from...

The Traditional truly lives up to its name. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and treated like family. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the food—absolutely phenomenal.
Every dish tasted homemade, full of authentic Greek flavor and prepared with care. From fresh salads and grilled meats to classic sides and dips, everything was delicious. The portions were generous, the quality outstanding, and the prices incredibly reasonable—especially for the experience you get.
The staff were exceptional: friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about sharing their love of Greek cuisine. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel at home, even if you’re visiting from halfway across the world.
We loved it so much, we went back again—and next time we’re in Greece, especially in Athens, The Traditional will definitely be on our list to revisit.
Tasso and family from Canada thank you for the amazing food, the warm hospitality, and the...
