I had a very disappointing and frankly infuriating experience at this hotel, and I strongly advise anyone considering it to stay away. The hotel is heavily reliant on a mobile app to open room doors, and even under normal conditions it would take multiple frustrating attempts every single time to get the door to open. It was never smooth, never reliable.
Things reached an unacceptable level when one day the app completely failed due to a network outage, and we were locked out of our room for over an hour. Worse than the technical failure was the hotel’s shameful handling of the situation: it took them more than an hour to even bother informing us that we could go down to reception and get a physical key. The hotel may try to excuse this by saying the network issue was widespread across Europe, but that has nothing to do with the shocking lack of basic service and communication. As a guest, I am their responsibility. I expect help, not silence. Problems happen — but how a hotel handles them shows its true face, and this one utterly failed.
They may also try to argue that this was a one-time incident. It was not. Even without the network failure, basic operations like accessing our room were a daily struggle. And on the day of checkout, the hallway leading to the elevators was filled with piles of garbage bags, making it hard and unpleasant to even move around. Such scenes belong in back alleys, not in a hotel pretending to offer hospitality.
As for the location — it’s honestly awful. While it’s technically about 15 minutes from the city center, the hotel sits in a run-down, dirty, neglected area that feels unsafe and uncomfortable. Walking around the neighborhood was unpleasant at best and unsettling at worst. Every time we came back to the hotel, it felt less like coming “home” and more like trying to get off the streets as quickly as possible. This is simply not a place where tourists should stay. No savings or “proximity to the center” can make up for the constant feeling of unease.
This hotel operates far, far below any standard of professionalism, reliability, cleanliness, or guest care. It falls beneath even the most basic level of service and dignity that any traveler should expect. If you are thinking about booking a stay here, think again — and think very seriously. You will deeply regret staying here. Do yourself a favor and choose literally...
Read moreIf you think that you booked a regular hotel let me tell you this isn’t an hotel. This a a smooshed version of an hotel and an Airbnb. No staff, no contact , no service. You’re all by yourself. No idea how this place got 4 stars cause it’s barely a 2 stars at best as it is now.
1- unlocking the door. If you don’t have a smartphone, if you don’t have data and no battery well you won’t be able to access your room. If you’re not fluent in English as well forget the access to the room. Owner send you an internet link to access the room that unlock the door. No key no card here.
2- cleaning. Haven’t been done for the whole stay. We don’t really know why. We slept late only one day but the rest we always left early.. no cleaning.. looking at it closely it seems that the cleaning lady live in the basement and is all by herself to clean the entire building.. this isn’t humanly possible..
3- automatic messages from owners feel like you’re just here to feed the place money. This is feeling so impersonal. We also have been spammed to review 5 stars when we barely arrived. I just got here how can I tell you if your hotel is worth 5 stars.
4- about our room… we got a room with a gigantic exit sign on top of the door, the room being the size of the bed it was so bright the whole night… impossible to sleep most of the night. And there was some kind of black tape on it ( not from us oc) no idea is this is even legal as it is..?
5- the lobby. The lobby isn’t separated at all from the stairs to access the rooms. And the staircase is a perfect sounds emplifier. We can ear literally everything happening in the lobby ground level floor ( and we were 4th floor…) so adding that to the light in the room well nearly impossible to sleep.
TLDR: please be more honest about what is really booked here, it’s not an hotel it’s a giant Airbnb. Sounds proof the lobby from the rest of the rooms. Don’t spam with review request when people just arrive. And don’t pretend this as 4 stars. If you do all those changes it would probably be...
Read moreOur stay was not as pleasant as expected, as the air condition in Room 41 was not working. This apparently was to complicated for the staff who tried but failed. What also did not happen, that the Air Condition was not fixed during our first day. That led us to spent the second night a at 26 degrees Celsius and a great deal of humidity. Also because 41 is a super small room (via Booking it was a Junior Suite, but honestly it is more like a standard room with a very small kitchenette und a big balcony). During the night the AC system could only be partially be restarted. At 01.45 we were given finally the option to switch rooms after our request to finally do something.
The new room (same type, number 61) was a lot bigger, a lot better and had working Air Condition.
The experience is somewhat of a shame because this topic could have been fixed in the first night, no compensation was offered and a change of rooms only after substantial discussion and limited sleep for two nights.
Opening a window is only a limited option at least on the weekend, as it is a very trendy neighborhood and you can celebrate a great party on the balcony. The windows mask the sound only partially.
Additionally, the shower in #41 was not properly cleaned. We addressed this and the room was cleaned again.
Lastly, the description Junior Suite for the Room 41 is just wrong. There was no desk, no additional seating, nothing which you would commonly expect from a junior suite. 61 is more like it. If we had been given the 61 for the Junior Suite we booked, it would have been a really great stay in a cool neighborhood in a new hotel, in a great room. It ended up leaving us with less sleep, a lot of annoyance and the feeling of being tricked.
To add to the reply of the hotel: the windows were checked by the night manager. If the problems was that easy, then we are very happy for the hotel. Nonetheless, room 41 is not a...
