Junior does Wine — Restaurant in Athens

In an unassuming location, this charming neighbourhood wine bar ... with its alluring mix of modern & relaxed atmosphere... has become a firm favourite with the locals & visitors alike since its opening about one and a half year ago!👍😊👍

There's a small high bar for solo drinkers & chatters .. and an outdoor seating with small tables & chairs for twos to fours to suit any mood or gathering of friends.

The wine selection for bottles is quite extensive & includes Greek wines and others from around the world. The choices per glass are much more limited ... but both options are offered at encouraging fair prices! 😊

I and a friend enjoyed a really pleasant, perfectly chilled South African white wine 👍👍 accompanied by a few casual, share friendly & tasty nibbles from the Junior does food menu ... seen in photos I shared. 😋

Last but not least the service was very friendly & prompt ... and if you prefer beer or cocktails the bar offers a few choices. 😊😊

I'm definitely going back for...

Started off as a small place in central location. We saw it getting busier and busier as time went by. These days unless you show up before 9, you won't find a place to sit - or stand. In a city full of options and bars, they managed to set up a wine dedicated location which I can only believe is succeeding like this because they keep it simple. The wine list is not massive but the wines on offer are nice and at a reasonable price. The food bites have developed to nice, curated small dishes that add to the appeal. The design is fairly basic, no frills, which a few nice decorations, the set up is an elevated local shop and the location seems to work for people. Parking might be a challenge, especially at later hours and parked cars almost right on top of your table can be annoying. The atmosphere is usually lively and busy. Definitely an interesting choice if you're around, worth checking out - in my view if you can make it there...

Wine bar in a location which you don’t expect to come across - surrounded by the side roads the polykatikies and the small adjacent park junior does wine is a great local choice offering a nice variety in wines and small bites. If/ when in the area worth visiting. The only thing that could be improved is the service and the friendliness of the people...
