CV Distiller — Restaurant in Athens

A disappointing experience for various reasons. I've been expecting so much from what is supposed to be Athens' best whisky bar. The place itself resembled more of a typical city centre bar and the bar's basement which is supposed to be the whisky lovers' oasis was not accessible on our visit due to renovation works. The whisky list is extensive but the presentation very poor. The menus are worn out and provide no info for the various bottles. The prices are ridiculously high, even for moderately priced whiskies (15 - 20 euro for 50ml when the 700 ml bottle sells for 50 euro!). No whisky flights available! The service is ok but with a bit of attitude and the later it gets they seem to get affected more and more. By the end of our session we were hardly seen trying to get the bill. The bar owners/managers should work really hard if they want to have a great whisky bar. If having another good bar in Athens is their goal, maybe...

CV Distiller is a bar that loves the arts, especially music. Here, among the rare essences that will get your attention, you will notice that the whiskey is the guest of honor. One of the nicest bars I've been to in Athens with great background music. Inside the decor is cozy, warm & inviting ... whereas outside it feels more like a street cafe that is ideal for warm autumn days & evenings with a bit of a breeze! The whiskey selection is outstanding and there are plenty of other drinks and cocktails on offer ... as well as snacks, cheese and cold cut plates ... for all tastes! My hubby tried the mini burger with his whiskey which he said was tops and I enjoyed a glass of red wine with freshly roasted nuts. The prices are reasonable for the quality and truly friendly service! We are definitely going back...
