Lion Hotel Apartments — Hotel in Athens

great alternative to a hotel, in the best place in Athens. Very calm and and easy access to any point of the city, thanks to the nearby Metro station. The prices in comparison to a hotel are very good. Some people may not like the place as the interiors haven't been renovated since the opening in the 70s. I personally love the rosewood elements, it's very authentic and vintage. The apartments are spacious, with a bedroom, a living room and a separate kitchen. I stayed here while looking for a last minute booking after I had to extend my stay in Athens for 1 more day. Although the location was nice and the staff were friendly, I have to say I was a bit disappointed upon entering the room due to how old the room and furniture were...and I don't mean old as in vintage classic way. The carpet had stains accumulated from 20 years and the furniture/walls/kitchen/overall interior looked like a cheap motel from the 1960's. It's has good position, but it's still 40min by foot to Acropolis. The biggest problem of this hotel - it's really old: hard to open or close balcony or windows and stuff like that. But it's nice place to crash...
