We are so thank-you we found Moon and Stars and had the opportunity to stay here! It is beautiful from the door outside, to the stairs and the communal spaces.

We stayed in the Birds of Happiness room for 3 nights and there was plenty of room so the two of us weren’t walking over each other. It has a balcony facing the road and a stunning bathroom too. They provide towels and little bottles of hand sanitizer, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The shower has great water pressure and easy to use to get the right temperature.

The room is sophisticated, light, airy (excellent aircon) and with a comfy bed! There is a cute little clipboard with recommendations for cafes, restaurants, ATMs etc as well as a handwritten note from Theodore along with a bottle of wine, water and some delicious Turkish Delight. The little details were so thoughtful and were very appreciated by us.

Breakfast is either served in your room, on your balcony or the roof terrace. You are given a breakfast card to choose whatever you want/however much you want. There is plenty of choice!

During our stay we met Theodore (the owner) and Dominika (receptionist). They were so friendly, knowledgeable, kind and went above and beyond for us during our stay. Theodore gave us a map and recommended areas to visit, cafes, restaurants and things to do which we really appreciated as it was our first time in Athens. We WhatsApp-ed Dominika who booked tables at restaurants on our behalf too. Theodore prepared and brought up breakfast to us everyday and was the most gracious host!

It is a lively area but you don’t really hear much sound and earplugs are provided for light sleepers. We were a stone throw away from lots of restaurants and bars. This was an excellent area to stay compared to our friends who stayed at the Kubik Hotel.

I cannot recommend Moon and Stars enough and will definitely stay here again when I am undoubtedly back in Athens in the near future!

Our recommendations couple of minutes walk from the hotel:-

Lithos (for dinner) A for Athens and 360 degrees for roof top bars with amazing views of the Parthenon. Hatter’s for coffee or cocktails in the evening Urban for drinks in the evening

Also going to: Plaka to look around, take photos and eat (ask Theodore for recommendations) Mount Lycabettus using the cable car for sunset and eating at K...

I cannot recommend Moon & Stars enough! During my trip to Greece (July 2022), I stayed in five different hotels, and Moon & Stars was undoubtedly one of my favorites. This luxury-feeling boutique hotel is located a couple of steps from the Thēseio Metro Station and an 8-minute walk from Monastiraki, and its neighborhood is filled with life: extraordinary sights to visit, fantastic restaurants, and bars. Besides its great location, it is beautifully decorated without impacting the guest's comfort, has five charming rooms and suites - I stayed in the room called "Jack in The Box" - and offers a delicious breakfast, which is prebooked and delivered to you in a wooden box so that you can decide where you want to enjoy your meal: in the coziness of your bedroom, in the lull entrance of the terrace surrounded by plants, or on the pleasant upstairs terrace which offers spectacular views towards the holly hills of the Acropolis and the Nymphs. The terrace was one of my favorite areas of this boutique hotel as it is a great place to enjoy a peaceful moment, especially during sunrise or at night, and observe and absorb the life in Athens. As if all of what was mentioned was not enough already, the staff is truly welcoming and accommodating, and Theodore (one of the owners) makes all guests feel as if the boutique hotel was their home. Lastly, if you wish to have a different and fun activity in the Greek capital, I definitely recommend booking the Fiat 500 Tour Moon & Stars offers. Theodore will show you the best places in the city, some of them are hidden gems, and will tell you all about the city and the people, as well as share some tips, secrets, and myths. Discovering Athens is wonderful, but seeing Athens through the eyes of an Athenian...

I cannot say enough about this beautiful gem of a boutique hotel or about its gracious and conscientious proprietor, Theodore, and his staff. The super clean and tastefully appointed suites create an immediate ambience, accentuated by a gentle jazz playlist greeting every guest upon arrival. In addition to its (Psirri) location, within the immediate vicinity of several trendy bars and eateries, and only a short walk from the famous Monastiraki Square, Plaka district and tourist sites, the Moon and Stars Boutique Hotel skillfully captures the modern spirit of this ancient city. The hotel’s real beauty, however, lies in its meticulous attention to the details of the guest experience. From the carefully curated breakfast selections (delivered each morning to your suite) to the reasonably priced and well-stocked mini bar, there is no amenity left to chance. The rooftop terrace provides a panoramic view of the city and the Acropolis, and a nice place to relax at the end of a long day. The staff go to great lengths in creating a memorable, hassle-free stay, including the arrangement of transfers to and from the airport and port and recommendations for local dining and tours. The true beauty in any travel experience lies in the details, and this place absolutely...

We cannot say enough good things about Moon and Stars Hotel! We came back from island hopping and as soon as we checked into the hotel we felt at home. We were staying in the Music Box Room and from the moment we opened the door we were hooked. From Ella Fitzgerald playing on the speakers to the art-deco styled room this hotel was truly a dream. Then came the service - the front desk staff was spectacular and the owner, Theodore was so welcoming and gave us an amazingly personal tour of Athens. From the breakfast up on their amazing rooftop to the most comfortable hotel bed this hotel delivers and then some. And to top it off they gave us one of the highlights of our trip - a three hour tour in their 1971 Fiat! What. A. Ride. It was so much whipping around the Athens streets in this car and getting to know Theodore through the tour as well was so much fun. We cannot recommend doing this tour enough - it was one of our favorite things we did in Greece (and we did a LOT!). Also, their recommendations for tour at the Acropolis and their tour guide they provided was fantastic! We loved Moon and Stars so much and can't wait to return!

Moon and Stars hotel is a lovely little boutique hotel. The staff are all super friendly and welcoming. I stayed for 3 nights in the Bird of Happiness room, and again for 1 night before travelling home in the Ballerina room. I recommend taking the Bird of Happiness room if you can get it, it was a much nicer room with a balcony, lots of natural light and better air conditioning. The design of the rooms is stylish, and I loved the showers. There is a reasonably priced mini bar and free water supplied. The breakfast was also good, especially the Greek yoghurt and fresh fruit salad. I left at 5am on my last stay, and they packed up some fruit, cookies and a cereal bar for me. There is no lift, so keep this in mind if you struggle with stairs or have heavy luggage. The location was brilliant, close to many bars, restaurants, shops and just by the ancient Agora. There is a gorgeous rooftop area to lounge on, however due to the heat I didn't really use it, it would be gorgeous in slightly cooler weather! I would love to come back again and explore Athens in Spring, as it was extremely hot during my stay!
