I had a really mixed experience during the two times I visited Menu, and likely won't come back.
Cons: Overpriced food with small portions. Staff need more training. The music was way too loud at 10:30am.
Pros: The space is GORGEOUS! I love the plants everywhere, the decor is sleek and modern, and the energy of the rooms is lovely. It's a very vibey place. It has a lot of potential to improve!
But the first time I came for coffee, the music was ridiculously loud, blasting club pop music at 10:30am. I couldn't even make conversation it was so loud. But both staff members were really unfriendly when we arrived. They were clearly hungover from partying the night before. One of them came over to pour some water in my cup and spilled the jug of water all over the floor and my purse without even realizing it. This is really bad service.
I returned another day for lunch, wanting to try out their food menu and give this place another shot! The second time, music was at a normal volume and the staff were kind and friendly. We ordered food, but were honestly so disappointed by the small portions. Avocado toast was 9€ and came with a bowl of avocado, one little piece of toast, two hardboiled eggs, and sumac seasoning. This is a bit overpriced for such a small quantity of food. My partner got two small tacos for 12.50€... it really isn't worth it.
My suggestions are to throw a handful of cheap salad greens and rice on the plate and offer some more bread and maybe a few radish slices and toasted nuts to...
Read moreGreat location and nice atmosphere in general HOWEVER the value for money is simply not there for either the food (blunt tastes) or the serving experience. We were to be a party of 3 and the third person would come and join us later, we’ve ordered a couple of appetisers (blunt endive & avocado w shrimps and mushroom tempura [the sweetest batter that didn’t pair well w the sweet corn dip] and Poached Egg Tacos (the recipe has probably changed as there wasn’t any chorizo and/or cheese crust) and a red sauce meatballs Udon noodles (that I’ll give 4/5) and a bottle of wine. After an hour we were asked to go to bar stools as they were accommodating a party of 4 that has arrived for their afternoon coffee, we had to carry our own drinks and (almost) forced out of our table. After a bit they brought us a cheesecake courtesy of the restaurant.
Long story short and to keep this brief: I’d expect when paying 40-50€ per person in Athens to receive a top tier service and at least some memorable tastes, we got neither and the entire experience was rather disappointing. I would not recommend visiting for the restaurant service, probably for a coffee and just enjoy the really nice...
Read moreA disappointing downfall – used to be great, now unbearable When this café first opened, it had real charm and potential. The space was interesting, the vibe felt fresh, and it looked like a place that could become a local favorite. Unfortunately, that promise has completely faded. The staff has become increasingly snobbish and indifferent. There’s a sense that they simply don’t care whether you stay, enjoy your time, or even feel welcome. Hospitality seems to be an afterthought, if not entirely forgotten. The interior, once stylish and thoughtfully curated, now feels chaotic and poorly maintained. Despite this, the place is constantly crowded — not because of the experience it offers, but because it’s become a trendy spot. This makes it even worse, as you’re made to feel "lucky" just to find a place to sit, rather than actually being valued as a guest. It's really a shame, especially considering the effort the owner must have put into creating this space in the first place. Allowing such a cold and careless atmosphere to take over is simply...
