Short: Our stay (mine with my partner) was extremely pleasant. The rooms have ancient Greek women names. The hotel seems to be run by their descendants. Odissi (probably misspelled... Sorry!), Eleni and the lady from the breakfast were friendly, professional and very helpful during our 3 day stay at the end of March 2025. There is an elevator. There are stairs. It is super clean. Our room (called Agnodice) has a small balcony. The shower is amaaaaaaaazing!!!! I guess I had the best showers of my life in that room. The breakfast is Mediterranean, every day the same. (Which is fine! Athens has a lot of great restaurants. No need to fill yourself up at any hotel!) The hotel is in walking distance of Sintagma Square (20-25 minutes) and has many cafes and restaurants nearby.
Detailed: The location is great. Neapolis 1897 is easy to find. The entrance is on the street. They have 24h reception open. Syntagma Square is 20-25 minutes away by walking. There are shops, cafes and restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance. Odissi and Eleni welcomed us very warmly the moment we stepped in. They showed us to the room called Agnodice. (All rooms are named after famous Greek women from their history and mythology.) Our room had a wall picture with a description of Agnodice at the entrance and the Leonardo da Vinci man above the bed. The shower was fantastic!!! It had the normal shower head plus 3 types of sprinkles (body level, head level and above the head). It was a great experience after a long flight and after all the walking we did through Athens. Although the room was small, it was cosy. The comfortable bed and the shower made it well worth it!!! Eleni was really spot on on our last night. There was a leak in the bathroom from the room above. She immediately offered us another room and a bottle of wine for our trouble. And all this after they fixed the issue within a few minutes. Odissi recommend us a great restaurant (Achilles Vergina) when we asked her. The restaurant was nice, fairly priced and close to the hotel. We were the only non-greeks there. All staff were friendly, helpful and smiling! The wifi was working smoothly. Everything was super clean. The AC was...

Read moreThe hotel has some positive aspects, but overall, our experience was not satisfactory.
Positives:
✔️ The location is very good, close to the city center, in an area full of bars, restaurants, and theaters.
✔️ The staff was extremely polite and helpful.
✔️ The rooms were very clean.
✔️ Breakfast had a good variety of options and was quite good overall.
Negatives:
❌ Our first room was on the ground floor, next to the reception, making it impossible to sleep due to excessive noise at night.
❌ The room was very small, and the bathroom door was creaky.
❌ Although they changed our room without any issues, the new one (on the 3rd floor) also had noise problems, as we woke up at 3:30 AM due to the breakfast area being prepared right in front of the rooms.
❌ There was an unpleasant smell in the bathrooms.
❌ Given the price, the overall experience was not worth the money.
Despite its positive aspects, the noise issues and lack of comfort did not allow us to enjoy our stay. We would not...
