this experience was one of the worst as a guest. the best thing in this hotel is as always the amazing cleaning team! the hotel is well locationed and the view is fab. the facility is nicely designed. the suite i rented was expensive even after the discount i received. what good is a kitchen without the possibility to wash the dirty dishes cause there was no soap or sponge to use? that is just 1 example for the hosting experience i have had in this hotel. as i said i was located on the roof suite i had to endure loud music from the neighbors hotel - the Selina which would last till 2 am on week days and 4 am on the weekends. the double window glass didn't manage with that noise. 6 am the construction begins for several buildings around. also noise goes through the window double glass. but the biggest issue i had to handle was the manager of the hotel and of course the owner which didn't only disregard my complaints but made sure to make me feel that im not welcomed in this hotel anymore. as i discover over my trips around the world (its my job) - the worst type of hosts are the Israelis. and im also an Israeli. they will always make sure to charge double and give back nothing but embitterment. bad reputation and aggressive treatment. i will not come back to this hotel or any from this group (PAME HOUSE, MELLO ATHENS) as i found the the Greek hosting is much better in the city of athens. good luck and...
Read moreI booked this hotel because of the ratings. However, I did find that some of the lower ratings were indeed correct. The hotel is situated in a rather sketchy area. We arrived during the day, our tour company dropped us off and advised us not to go out after dark. The guide even mentioned that he was Greek and "...doesn't come down here." It's only about a 16 minute walk from the Acropolis and Mars Hill. Not very far from the US Embassy and the Greek Parliament. The rooms do not have a dead bolt and use a keypad entry. I will say the rooms are very up to date and simply furnished. They are a bit small though and lack dressers and closet space. There is a rack that you can use to hang your clothing. The bathrooms have no counter space and are outfitted with hand and bath towels (for US visitors you'll have to bring your own washcloths). No ironing board in the room, not really sure if they provide one. There is a small elevator that pretty much only 2 ppl with luggage can fit in to. The reception desk is located on the 2nd floor. There is no vending or snack area available. The staff was very nice and helpful in arranging transport to the airport (we paid €170 for a mini bus for 9ppl). We didn't hear any partying or loud noises from the street (we were on the 4th floor). WiFi was fast and free. I wouldn't stay there again, but it wasn't a...
Read moreWe enjoyed our five-day stay at this hotel and would consider it a diamond in the rough while the neighborhood is in transition with collapsed buildings around the hotel being renovated. ||The rooftop bar has fantastic views! The bar is limited to hotel guests so some evenings there were only a handful of other people on the rooftop. The bartender was great!||We had a suite style room with a sofa bed to give us more space. The bed was comfortable and room was reasonably quiet for the middle of the city.||Hotel staff was very helpful during our stay. They arranged taxi transfer to the airport, got ice for us to enjoy ouzo on the rooftop on Monday when the bar was closed, and answered questions on things to do.||The location is very convenient to shopping and many restaurants. The Athens Central Food Market is across the street. We got breakfast items there and explored the market. The Acropolis area is only about a ten to fifteen minute walk through interesting parts of the city.||The immediate neighborhood of the hotel was intimidating the first day we arrived. Several abandoned buildings right around the hotel. One is being fully renovated so the neighborhood appears to be in transition. But we felt reasonably safe walking back to the hotel before midnight.||We would...
