Louvre Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

Read all the reviews before booking ...got to be honest, not sure what all the hype is about. Agreed, the rooms have had money spent on them, but they are SO small. They supply a travel kettle in the rooms, but nothing to drink out of ..the bathrooms look amazing, one foot in the shower whilst sat down on the loo though and the extraction wasn't working in the bathroom so we gave the hairdryer a wide berth, didn't fancy a free perm !! The housekeeping team worked very hard keeping everywhere clean and were really friendly. Very dated reception/ bar area but again alot of money spent on outside seating to the front of the hotel ...that no one uses unless having breakfast ...even the hotel sign wasn't working, nightimes were souless...no atmosphere, just the same Radio DJ station playing..the pool area was small, 20 sunbeds, 4 umbrellas. Never saw a member of staff once in the pool area...there is an emergency button situated on a wall if anything was to happen ?! Generally clean around the pool, just very tired and in need of a lick of paint and perhaps some flowers in the planters full of earth but not much else. I gave 4 stars for location simply because it on the same stretch of road as some incredible places to eat...we booked with TUI scrolled low to high...we got what we paid for really. . .a cheap week away, perhaps we expected too much based on...

While the condition for our reservation was that the room had a double bed, when we arrived we found that it had two single metal beds which left a gap of 15-20cm between them. We asked the "manager" to give us a room with a double bed as we had agreed. He told us that there was no availability and we had to stay overnight in the two singles and the next day he would take us to a room with a double bed. Having no choice, we accepted. The next day he actually took us to a room with a double bed from 1980 which at the slightest movement made enough noise to wake up the whole floor. This, however, was solved by us by filling the gaps between the woods of the bed with paper and coins. Generally, the beds in both rooms have nothing to do with those presented on the website. In our room, the bathroom door could not close with all that this entails. The bathroom was satisfactory. The balcony is completely untidy, however, it is acceptable if you want to place your towels. On the plus side, the rooms are relatively clean with plenty of space and the two girls in the breakfast service are very polite. For my part, I do not recommend the room as it is expensive for what it offers. Residence period 12-16/8/2020. I stayed in this Hotel as a matter of urgency, because of my brother being injured while on holiday. I booked last minute and arrived within 10 minutes of booking. The process was so smooth and welcoming, my room was prepared within minutes and was able to check in with no issues even though i booked couple mins before.

Due to my brothers injury, i had to get an extra room due to him being discharged from hospital and we didnt have flights until a couple more days. Even though they were fully booked they still went above and beyond to provide me with a room so me and my brother can be in same hotel.

Also a massive appreciation for the lovely lady at the front called Elaina, she welcomed my brother like it was her own son, she took time out to provide my brother with as much help as he needed, firstly at breakfast times making fresh orange juice without us asking for it. We required a doctor and she ran and found a doctor for my brother straight away and found a great doctor who gave us such piece of mind. Unfortunately, she wasnt there when we were checking out so leaving this review so she can see that we was really happy with her hospitality and will see her soon in future. P.S we have landed in England safely and my brother is getting help here.
