Kydonia rooms — Hotel in Municipality of Chania

STAY AWAYYY !!! My friend and I rented this place to extend our stay in chania because we loved it so much. We didn’t expect much of it since the price was really low but it turned out to be worst of what we imagined it to be. The owner basically ruined our stay.

First of all, the room was nothing like the pictures, it was so dark inside and DIRTY we felt we were in a prison cell. At the first glanced it seemed to be whatever but then slowly we started to see that the place was indeed very dirty with SPIDER WEBS everywhere & not to mention I found a COCKROACH. Our sheets and pillows smelled like the owners arm pits and so did the entire place I guess he doesn’t know what a shower or deodorant is, wasn’t nice waking up to this at all. There was no maid so our room was left dirty for the 6 days we were there. Basically had to keep our shoes on because we didn’t want to touch the floor with our bare feet

Second of all, I had a guest that wanted to come help me pick up some stuff from my room because the stairs are really steep and old I didn’t want to fall over holding so many stuff.He didn’t want to let my friend come upstairs even for 5 seconds. Which I found to be really disrespectful. I understand you want to secure your place but there’s a limit. I’m not bringing in a stranger that I found on the street & If I recall, I am allowed to have a visitor ! The second day, my friend came by again to talk with me and since I know how crazy the owner is, I suggested to sit on the stairs outside of the hotel. After 10 minutes, the owner comes out and tells us it’s been too long that we’re outside he’s been watching us in the camera and we have to leave... we weren’t even making noise and we were talking super low. we weren’t bothering nobody!! I guess he really has nothing better to do with his life then ruin other peoples vacation. I have so much manners and respect that I felt like I was such a bad person for only wanting to have a serious conversation with someone.

& last but not least, didn’t make any sense to me in why he was being so rude. Everyone I meet in Greece is always so friendly to me it’s the first time I stayed somewhere and got so bad mistreated, I mean , there’s nothing to be proud about , your hotel is disgusting and so is your attitude( many of the locals agrees with me..when I mentioned I was staying there, they basically looked at me saying « goodluck » ). There’s so many other beautiful places you can stay at. Just do yourself a favour and don’t even think twice about staying here. He humiliated me in every way In front of my friend... I felt so embarrassed. Like seriously, you don’t have to ruin peoples holiday & change your attitude...

DO NOT BOOK NIGHTS HERE!!!|——|English text following below the Swedish! |——||Väldigt slitet och smutsigt boende med en mycket otrevlig ägare. ||Madrasserna var riktigt smutsiga och vi hittade även löss på lakanen. Man kunde se dom hoppa runt. Lakanen var smutsiga och det fanns även blodfläckar på dom. Han bytte inte ut dom varje dag. ||När vi visade honom lakan som hade stora äckliga fläckar på sig så var hans svar att dom inte gick bort. (Kanske Inte så konstigt med tanke på att han själv tvättade dom i rummet bredvid oss och vi fick höra maskinen tvätta varje morgon). Om lakan har fått fläckar som inte går bort erbjuder man kunden nya lakan, inte skyller bort det på annat.||Schampoflaskorna och tvålen var använda och saker som andra lämnat kvar, vi fick alltså inte nya. När vi bad om nya saker så visa han oss ett gäng med grejer andra personer lämnat kvar. ||Vi fick bara en toalettrulle för tre personer och om vi behövde fler så behövde vi be om en nya vid varje tillfälle. Vi stannade i över en vecka. ||När han rengjorde toaletten vid ett tillfälle när vi kom tillbaka till rummet såg vi att han använde samma trasa till toalettringen som han gjorde för diskbänken i kokvrån. ||Golvet var smutsigt när vi checkade in, så det hade inte rengjorts efter tidigare boende. Avloppet för duschen var smutsigt och hade fått stopp så vatten rann ut i sovrummet. Handdukarna i badrummet var också smutsiga. ||Ägaren var inte tillgänglig alltid och lämnade ibland hotellet utan tillsyn, vi kunde då inte få tag på honom. Han var även väldig otrevlig vid varje tillfälle vi behövde prata med honom. ||Vår Resa påverkades mycket av boendet, så istället för att det skulle bli en fin avslappnande resa var den fylld med besvär och jobbiga samtal med ägaren. ||Håll er borta från detta ställe!!||||—————————|English below|DO NOT BOOK NIGHTS HERE!!|—————————||Very dirty and run down “Hotell” with a very rude owner.||The bed was very dirty, we found flees jumping around on the sheets. There were blood stains on the dirty sheets when we checked in. He didn’t change them everyday.||When we showed him the sheets with the big disgusting stains (not only blood) he just said that that they wouldn’t come of. Maybe he shouldn’t be washing them if he don’t know how? We heard the washer every morning because it was next door to our room. If a customer got sheets with spots, you give them new fresh sheets, not blame the it in other stuff. ||The shampoo bottles and the soap was used and things others had left there. We didn’t get new stuff. When we mentioned this he showed us a couple of other bottles other guests had left there. ||We only got one toilette roll for three people, whenever we needed more we needed to ask him. We stayed there for a week so this was pretty troublesome and irritating. ||One time that we were returning to the room we saw that he was cleaning the toilet seat and then went to clean the kitchen countertop and steel with the same rag. ||The floor was dirty at check in, so it hadn’t been cleaned before our stay. The sewer for the shower was dirty and had stoppage. So the water ran out from the shower into the bedroom when we were showering. The towels we got where dirty and when we asked for new we got dirty towels again. ||The owner wasn’t always there, and sometimes left the place without anyone being there. So in situations where we needed to speak to him or get something from him (like soap, towels, toilet rolls) he wasn’t there. Every time we interacted with him he was rude and not service minded. ||Our trip to Chania was very negatively afflicted by this stay, so instead of a wonderful relaxing vacation we got days with lots if issues and tough conversations with the owner. ||Do Not...

The room was very dirty! There was a lot of dust and in the drawer we found personal items from the previous renters. The bed sheets and the towels were clean. He didn't give us hand towels! ||The soaps at the bathroom were used and we had to ask for new ones. He gave us only one roll of toilet paper for four people and we had to ask for more. He told us why should I clean the room every day for you even though it was obvious he didn't even clean after the previous renters left and before we arrived! The house was able to host 4 people but there where only 2 cups to drink from. ||The balcony rail was rusty and broken. The balconies were tied together to keep them from falling down! It was very dangerous and unsafe! ||The owner was very rude and unprofessional to us and he asked us for more money on top of our reservation charges based on excuses and lies he thought on the spot, old price on website etc. Fortunately, we had the proof of our reservation and refused to pay more!
